TV Roundup: Britney’s YouTube Fan Inks Deal

September 19, 2007

• Chris Crocker—best known as the guy who sobbed “Leave Britney Alone!” on YouTube—has signed a development deal and may land his own TV show. Sponsors will include tissue and makeup remover companies.

• Quentin Tarantino has turned down the chance to direct an episode of the hit NBC series Heroes. Apparently, the brain-stealing Sylar was too “warm and fuzzy” for the director.

• The CW is promoting the sci-fi comedy Reaper on coasters at hipster watering holes, reaching that highly coveted demographic: drunk bloggers in ironic shirts.

• Beauty and the Geek has added its first female geek, a music student named Nicole Morgan. In a shocking twist, this geek’s favorite movies are Star Wars and Star Trek.
