Gossip Girl: That Girl Is Poison

September 27, 2007

You’ve gotta love a series that’s giving you major dramarama payoff in only its second week on the air, right? Other, lesser shows might have made us wait for months to see Blair drop her I-know-what-you-did-last-semester bombshell on former BFF Serena, but GG put it out there in Week Two. “I always knew you were a whore,” Blair told a stunned Serena. “I never took you for a liar, too.”

And that wasn’t even the episode’s biggest angst-y moment.

That came after Blair caught wandering boyfriend Nate trying to secretly meet with one-time tryst Serena. Blair hightailed it to Chuck’s dad’s fancy Palace brunch to tell Dan, Serena’s date (and her only friend at this point), just what a backstabber he was getting himself involved with. With Nate and Chuck looking on, Blair’s revenge (part one, I’m guessing) unfolded.

Adorkable Dan’s reaction? He wigged and fled the scene. Serena chased after him. He was all, “You’re not who I thought you were.” She was all, “I’m trying to change and if you can’t accept that, you’re not who I thought you were.”

Serena, now an outcast amongst the crew she once ruled, was left flipping through cell phone pics of happier times before tossing the cellular scrapbook into a garbage can.

Mad blogger Gossip Girl’s pithy take on the brunch brouhaha: “Some might call this a fuster cluck, but on the Upper East Side, we call it Sunday afternoon.”

I personally, am loving this new series. I did not read any of the books but already I am hooked! The dramarama going on between Blair and Serena is the making for some great TV and I can only hope that this show will stay on the air for a while.

This show is the best new thing on tv. It has great drama and suspense. Totally enjoyable from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the next episode.

Judy September 27th, 2007

I am hooked on the show and it’s only week 2! The cast is absolutely gorgeous especially the men. Keep up the good writing and the show will do just fine.

Jen September 27th, 2007

Love this show. I’m a 25 yr old who is loving the trashy teen drama. Its silly anf fun and totally enjoyable bubblegum for the brain. No serious thinking required – which at mid-work week is a MUST!

I am slowly but surely becoming completely obsessed with this show! I have finally found my 90210 replacement(did I just date myself?)…I can’t stop telling my friends about it so we can all be hooked on it together!

I love Gossip Girl!! My advice to everyone who hasnt read the book and is just watching the show is to go buy the book. the book goes soo much more in detail with the drama!!

Wow, would I do if these kids actually had HOMEWORK to do over the weekend?!?!?! OMG, the scandal would vanish. I’m so happy that upper-east side education does not permit such nonsense when kids should be out downing martinis and getting laid!

Katherine September 27th, 2007

I must admit I was so disappointed when they took off One Tree Hill for a new show but I live this show. It’s so good, well written and the actors are great. However, it is hard to believe that these kids are still in High School.

Calla September 27th, 2007

this show is absolutely ridiculous. I decided to give it a second chance last night, but I don’t think I can handle it. It’s way too unrealistic and dramatic. the characters are out of control, and they are all such stereotypes. (i.e. Blair the queen bee,Dan the outsider, his sister is the wannabe, Serena the whore, Chuck the man whore, Nathaniel the hot b/f, etc.)

this show is absolutely ridiculous.
