Dina Lohan’s Reality TV Show Starts Filming Oct. 30

October 25, 2007

Get ready to see a lot more of the Lohans. Filming is set to begin Oct. 30 on the untitled E! reality TV series primarily starring Dina Lohan, and her singer-actress daughter Ali, Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE.

The first shoots will take place in New York City and Long Island, N.Y.

“There are so many misconceptions about me and my family,” says Dina. “I’m setting the record straight.”

The Lohan matriarch, who will serve as the show’s executive producer, tells PEOPLE she wants the show to empower single mothers, by illustrating her own life as a working mom. “It’s about empowering women to be successful single mothers. About being in the limelight without compromising motherhood. It’s about what I do, how you can be successful, and be a single mom and fulfilling your kids’ dreams. Working is my sole source of income.”

And viewers will see the many sides of Dina, who will begin managing other performers’ careers: “It won’t just be following my family around like other shows. It’ll show me cultivating careers, going to soccer practice. I’m a big supporter of domestic violence charities, so they’ll show that. Then they’ll show [my son] Cody at soccer practice. Ali going to school and in the studio. It’ll encompass everything. You’ll see me having five business meetings in the city.”

Most of all, Dina says, “We want it just to be real. It’s okay if it’s not as crazy as the tabloids make it.”

And will Lindsay make a cameo in the show? Says Lohan: “Lindsay is a family member and will lend a helping hand if Ali asks her, when she’s in the recording studio.” —David Caplan

You have got to be kidding. This is a joke, right?

kim lynn October 25th, 2007

This woman has always been publicity hungry. Who cares about her show – she’s not the celebrity and she shouldn’t have her own show.

Sara October 25th, 2007

Who cares about any of the other Lohans? I dont, and I will not be tuning in. Yuck.

Katelyn October 25th, 2007

Oh gee! Just what Dina Lohan needs- more press. This woman is by no means successful- she is the manager/supervisor of her daughter that ended up in rehab 3 times. She needs to spend her time taking care of her family instead of exploiting it and living vicariously through her 21 year old daught. Grow up Dina.

jenn October 25th, 2007

I am so glad that she is going to do a show on being a great mom. I can not wait for the advice from her. I mean come on, she did such a great job with Lindsay. Just think how great your children could turn out if you take notes from her.

Scott October 25th, 2007

Why? All I ask is why? Why would ANYONE want to watch a show about Dina who? Who is she? Why is her life so much more viewer worthy than the lady down my street with two boys Lindsay’s age?

We have sunk to new lows in television.

She is the Executive Producer how can you trust what you see. She will edit the whole thing into making herself look good and “empowering women.”

cheryl October 25th, 2007

I am appalled by this, the only reason people are interested in watching a show with
Dina Lohan is because they expect to seeing a drunken and drugged up Lindsay or the fall of her sister Ali. Instead of concentrating on being a successful single mother concentrate on raising and helping your children whom you have exploited enough.

robin October 25th, 2007

OH PLEASE!!! You must be kidding me?! How to be a successful single mother?! My sister is a single mother and has been since my nephews birth and considering Dina Lohan record with her just amazing (yeah right) parenting of little Lindsay, I can only imagine her sage advice for real mothers! Her daughter has been arrested numerous times been in rehab what 3 times now? What kind of parent is that….she goes out clubbing with ther for crying out loud!

Why am I reading this crap October 25th, 2007

Please, stop capitalizing on your daughter’s success. You’re only doing her more harm than you already have.
