Yep, Patrick Dempsey may be McDreamy (who are we kidding— there’s no maybe about it), but his Grey’s Anatomy co-star Katherine Heigl is an Emmy winner and, now, one of Barbara Walters’s 10 Most Fascinating People.
Heigl, who’s planning a pre-Christmas wedding to pop singer Josh Kelley, has had quite a year, from her outspoken interviews regarding last season’s Isaiah Washington scandal with her GA co-star and friend T.R. Knight, her breakout role in the summer comedy hit Knocked Up to her September Emmy win for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series.
Meanwhile, the show itself has been nominated for another Producers Guild of America Award. GA, last year’s winner, will be competing against Dexter, Heroes, House, Lost and The Sopranos for the honor.
It’s also Thursday, which means another new GA installment (9 p.m. ET, ABC), and it promises to be a good one. Derek appears to be on a date without someone who isn’t Meredith, and Mer’s got her hands full with a visitor who shocks her in the ER: Her dad, Thatcher, who pops up very unexpectedly. —Kimberly Potts
