Actor Kevin Connolly sure treats his “friends” well. The Entourage star, 33, recently plunked down several thousand dollars at Tracy Allen Fine Jewelry on an 18-karat white gold antique-like ring with diamonds for Dancing with the Stars beauty Julianne Hough.
Hough’s rep confirms to PEOPLE that Hough did indeed receive a ring from Connolly, but that the 19-year-old Dancing star and Connolly “are just friends. They are not dating.”
A store patron says Connolly “knew exactly what he was going to get her and was clear about who it was for.”
Hough wore the ring on the Monday, November 12 performance show when she and partner Helio Castroneves performed the paso doble and the fox trot.
Earlier this month the Entourage star admitted to Howard Stern that he was “actively pursuing” Hough. —Monica Rizzo and Eunice Oh
