Cashmere Mafia: Should Juliet Cheat Back?

For the women of Cashmere Mafia, the glamorous life at the top of the Manhattan food chain is not without its tradeoffs. For Mia Mason (Lucy Liu), it’s a top publishing position versus her relationship. Meanwhile Zoe Burden (Frances O’Connor) struggles to find balance as a mom and a powerful investment banker and Caitlin Down (Bonnie Somerville) is starting to wonder if she might prefer women to men. But it’s Juliet Draper’s (Miranda Otto) situation that hits the hardest. When her friends tell her that her husband is having an affair, she admits that she’s known about his infidelity and has accepted it — until now.

“Take a good look around at all our friends,” she tells him later. “You won’t know when and you won’t know who, but I’m going to take one of them as my lover and do things to them that would curl your toes. Then you and I can start over with a clean slate.”

Yes, if you are a true friend you will tell your friend that her or his spouse is cheating on them and NO two wrongs don’t make a right so there for I would not cheat on my spouse because he cheated on me. But I would say this much once the trust and respect is broken it is hard to gain back and would probably end up divorcing that person.

Yes, I would tell a friend if her husband was cheating on her. But probably only once. If she decided to forgive him, and he did it again, unless I saw it with my own eyes, I don’t think I would bother telling her. If I actually witnessed it, I would feel as though I should tell her.

I would not have an affair to get back at a cheating partner. I would either make the decision to forgive and try to work to get past it. Or, more likely, I would end the relationship. If the trust and respect are gone, it’s not much of a relationship.

I’d have to tell my friend…I agree with what they did. If it was my husband cheating on me and my friends knew and didn’t tell me until I found out, I’d feel so upset and angry that they didn’t tell me.

But, I don’t know if I myself could go through with cheating on my spouse to ‘get even’ with him.

Yes, I would definetely tell a friend if her husband/boyfriend was cheating, because I would want someone to tell me. And no she shouldn’t cheat to get even. It goes back to one of the golden rules two wrongs don’t make a right. I would say move on with your life and leave him behind.

Would you have an affair to get back at a cheating partner? No, I would leave the relationship.

Yes I would tell my friend if her husband was cheating. At least it gives your friend time to work out how to handle the situation. My best friend knew my husband was having an affair and never told me. I do not talk to her anymore, she should have told me. I expected honesty from my best friend not gossip and snickering behind my back.
