I drove up to Charelston and it was HI-larious. my friends and i made it into a road trip, and let me tell you, there were crazies in that line! Can’t wait to see ‘em on TV. (i didn’t make the cut)

I’ve been a huge fan of the show since I was 11 years old. When I finally turned 16 I couldn’t wait to audition. That same year, my grandma’s employer, Graceland was bought by CKX, the SAME company that owns American Idol…so I was disqualified. Guess it wasn’t meant to be. =( But good luck to all the contestants this year. I’ll be watching! Maybe you’ll see me on Nashville Star =)

my friend’s sister, who is INCREDIBLY talented, auditioned here in san diego. she said that like every three hours 5 people got to see the three judges. they had about ten people line up and each sing about 1 line of a song. she said in her line, they said “you are all very talented but we have already put through many GOOD singers. thank you for coming”

Yea, I audition for Idol but they’re not looking for talent. They’re looking for a person that can get their ratings up; that’s all.

you know.. my niece won 2 talent competitions, one being New York City’s Apollo Theatre. She is an amazing singer. When she won Lancaster Pa’s singing competition, the judges told her she can beat Christine Aquilera. (no joke). However, she tries out for AI and gets rejected several times. But the guy in front of her dressed like a drag queen makes it. The AI talen judge told her she can sign, but no. What in the world is going on here. We know it takes drama in some instances to make the list. But to reject a very very good singer, makes me believe that this show is just for ratings. And yes, you are winning.

I have tried out for AI twice, both times in Atlanta. There are many stages of auditions you have to go through before you ever get to see the judges. Initially, you try out in front of producers who make the largest cuts. As somebody stated, if you are dressed funny or will boost ratings, you make it through. They turn away a large number of very talented singers, many more talented than past winners! It’s still a good time though!!!!

The show is disgusting, and judges make every normal person sick. Specially that idiot Simon with his ugly face. That is not a show that is crap, and I agree with one of the comments, that making fun of disable people is not fun. Judges you are human crap, specially SICK SIMON.

I flew my neice from North Carolina to Houston so we coule make it a road trip. We drove to Dallas and stayed in a hotel across from the stadium. Wow what and experience……It was awful…We stayed there so that we could walk the approx mile to the stadium to avoid the parking issues. We arrived with a few other people hours early…..you could not go on the property so we sat on the bridge and waited….and waited…..When they finally started letting people in we ran……..to the line…….we were on of the few people who were in front of the AMERICAN IDOL LINE STARTS HERE…….So we waited more……she got her number we got our arm bands and we walked beack to the hotel…..tired and hungry……..when we got to the hotel we slept…….What was horrible is when we woke up we were getting ready for dinner and looked down on the door and saw blood. We later found out by some people that this is a local hang out rented by the hour…………..if you know what I mean……..We did change hotels…….We met alot of great people…….some really great singers and some along with my niece did not make the cut. She was interviewed a few times and her photo was on the AI website for Dallas. Her name is ERIKA SMITH……

One of my friends has a great set of pipes and made it to the 2nd or 3rd show on Canadian Idol. but they told her that she didn’t “fit the prophile”

I auditioned for the first time this season in Dallas. I totally would never do it again or recommend auditioning unless you plan on going and acting crazy to be on TV because they are not interested in many people with actual talent. They were in no way prepared to accomodate that many people and many were taken out of Texas Stadium on strechers because they were suffering from heat exhaustion, not to mention the concession stands ran out of water.
I saw so many people with amazing voices not even pass the first round of judging but then he judges allowed many fools to the next level.
