You’ve bought the magazines, you’ve joined her book club, and you’ve drooled over her “favorite things” — and now, you can watch all things Oprah Winfrey all the time.
The talk-show queen announced Tuesday the launch of her very own cable network — called The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), set to debut in 2009. The channel is a joint venture between Winfrey’s Harpo Productions and Discovery Communications.
“Fifteen years ago, I wrote in my journal that one day I would create a television network, as I always felt my show was just the beginning of what the future could hold,” Winfrey, 53, said in a statement. “For me, the launch of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Network’ is the evolution of the work I’ve been doing on television all these years and a natural extension of my show.”
