That’s Nuts! Fans of Canceled Las Vegas Send Baby Booties to Execs

February 26, 2008

It worked for Jericho with peanuts, but will it work for Las Vegas with … baby booties?

After executives at CBS canceled Jericho, a show about post-apocalyptic life in rural Kansas, angry fans delivered 20 tons of peanuts to CBS Entertainment offices in New York and California in an act of protest that referenced what they thought might be the final episode of the show, according to USA Today. Reacting to the fans’ dedication, which CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler called an “unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series,” the network ordered seven more episodes of the show.

Now, fans of Las Vegas, which was recently canceled by NBC, are launching their own campaign to demand a real ending to the show by sending baby booties directly to network executives. The show’s final episode was the first half of a two-part cliffhanger about Molly Sims‘ pregnant character, Delinda Deline.

Fan site lasvegas-theseries.com has the following Q&A in the FAQ section:

Why are we campaigning if the show has been cancelled?
Because there’s a chance we can convince NBC to change their minds and give us a real ending to the show. The Jericho fans were able to do this by sending CBS execs nuts so maybe we can do the same for Vegas. We’ve got nothing else to lose at this point.

Why baby booties/socks?
We needed an item to represent the show and since the big cliffhanger was regarding Delinda’s pregnancy we thought baby booties was the way to go. Plus they are cheap to purchase, they can be shipped easily, and they can be easily donated to charity.

Tell us: Should NBC bring back Las Vegas?

This is one of very few shows I do watch on tv. I had no idea that it was doing that poorly. It would be a tradegy if they were to get rid of this show. I hope that NBC comes to their senses and reconsiders bringing this show back on. It was starting to get really interesting with people hooking up and Tom Selleck being on there.
NBC think about what you are doing please!

I can believe that they cancelled the show, the ratings were good, why did they cancel the show?It was cancelled so wrong, this was my favorite show to watch on friday.

Kim February 26th, 2008

I know this is a corny show, but I still love it! They cannot just leave it like that, that’s just in poor taste! At least make one more episode to show what happens to Delinda and the baby!

There is also an online petition being sent to save the show. You too can sign it via:

YES!! I can’t believe that they would just end it like that without a real ending to the series, that is so rude to the fans!

I didn’t realize I was watching the last episode. It was one of the few shows I made sure I watched through the week. I even watch the re-runs while my kids are at school. Even if they don’t bring it back, at least give us a proper ending…..

jessica February 26th, 2008

yes they should end it properly if they are not going to continue the show.
I loved that show!!!!! and am so upset that it is ending. boo hoo

I think it stinks that they keep taking off the good shows and leave the most stupid shows on TV. Who cares who the next super model is, the biggest loser is,or them reality show where they do stupid things just for money. I think it is all over rated. Personally i’m tired of seeing shows like that. There are still some people that like a good show to watch but they always take them off TV and we have nothing to watch.
