Idol Poll: Which Slow ’80s Song Moved You?

March 5, 2008

Guys’ night on American Idol Tuesday was stacked with exceptional performances — David Hernandez, Michael Johns and David Cook were all outstanding. So were Danny Archuleta (not a big surprise) and Jason Castro, who both slowed down the pace of the night to sing a pair of moving ’80s hits. Archuleta sat at a piano and sang “Another Day in Paradise” by Phil Collins and Castro gave a rousing performance of “Hallelujah.”

Randy Jackson said Archuleta’s performance was like watching him in concert and Simon Cowell said he’s “probably going to be in the final two.”

Paula Abdul admired Castro for “showing a beautiful vulnerability” while Cowell said he was “absolutely brilliant.”

Tell us: Whose heartwarming ’80s song did you like best?

I am rooting for David A all the way since I am a fellow Salt Laker, but David Cook rocked the house with his performance last night. Jason Castro’s performance was great too. I hope Brooke does great again. She is my girl pick!

Love the guys this year!! David is my fav!! But Jason was too sweet. David was better than I have seen him. Its a tough one! I hope we have a guy winner this year!!

Hey, I remember the 80’s as a fun time. Last night was toooooo serious. I vote for “wake me up before you go-go”

After Josiah Flemming was given the heavo-ho and then appeared on Ellen and did a brilliant job, my next favourite is neither of these two. I like Michael Johns….his style, his stage presence, his range and he’s good-looking and sexy to boot. I hope he! gets to be this year’s American Idol.
Singing is one thing, but looks and style and presentation…these factors help.
When Clay Aiken first appeared, he rocks the house when he sings. He improved his hairstyle, changed his appearance and went on to Broadway.

I actually voted for the FIRST time last night. All were exceptional except for three, which I hope two will be the ones to go. Doesn’t matter who. Bottom three should be Luke Menard, Dannielle Noriega (oops, I mean Danny), and Chickezie. Chickezie sings well but I didn’t like his choice of song well enough to say that he should stay. Luke sings to high-pitched and Danny is just too prissy. Out of the 4 contestants I voted for, Jason Castro (Texas boy) received the most.

Definetly David A. (he’s my favorite) had the best 80s ballad last night, he is also consistently turning out awesome performances. The song Jason sang was good for his voice and his style. Hope the girls can top the boys tonight!

Jason all the way!!

Esky March 5th, 2008

Jason Castro is definitely my favorite!

I love David Cook. Everything he has done so far has been great.
