It seems the threat of a sexual harassment suit is all but a distant memory for Nico (Kim Raver), who’s been fooling around with Kirby (Robert Buckley), a younger photographer she works with at her magazine. With her husband out of town, the editrix can’t keep away from Kirby and as their affair starts to get steamier, Nico sets ground rules so they keep their “arrangement” strictly physical to prevent any emotional attachment. But like all rules, these were made to be broken:
Rule #1: In public, act like strangers
Nico stops by a photo shoot for the hottest new starlet in town — the same shoot she got Kirby to photograph. Though she tries to play it cool, her nervous laughs and death stares make it apparent there is something going on. Later, when Kirby shows up to her fundraiser on the arm of the actress, Nico keeps her watchful eyes glued on them. If she keeps up this suspicious behavior she might be her own cover story.
Rule #2: No emotional attachments
When she learns that Kirby got the star’s number, she commands him to ask her out. But witnessing the date when he brings her to a fundraiser, Nico realizes that her attraction to Kirby is deeper than just a physical connection.
Rule #3: Don’t show-up unannounced
After watching Kirby and his date all night — and then not receiving a text from him when she gets home — Nico heads downtown to see if he went home alone. Lucky for her, he did.
Rule #4: No sleepovers
With Charles out of town, Nico can’t resist a night with Kirby. Instead of doing the walk of shame back to her fancy apartment, she wakes up and stays for coffee!
Rule # 5: Do not disobey the rules
Though the rules were written by Nico to keep Kirby in line, it looks like she is the repeat offender! We can’t wonder what will happen when her husband Charles comes back. –Andrea DeSimone
