George Clooney: I’m Not Returning To ER

March 17, 2008

George Clooney denies reports claiming the actor, 46, will return to ER for a 15th season next fall to reprise his role as Dr. Doug Ross.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada airing Monday, Clooney was asked if he is indeed returning to the NBC show. “No, never — we never even talked about it,” he says in the interview. “No one has ever asked me. It’s the funniest thing. The story came out, and I was like ‘Where did that come from?’ It was everywhere — I mean in one day!”

Clooney added that the reports were news to TV execs, as well. “I ran into [ER Executive Producer] John Wells two days ago on the lot … and said to him, ‘What the hell happened?’ He said, ‘I don’t know. I don’t know where that came from.”

But Clooney isn’t discounting how crucial the role was to his career. “I was 33 when ER hit, so I have a very different outlook on the way things work,” he says. “I don’t think I was supposed to have been famous. I realize how much of this is luck.”

Who cares what he does.

He is an ego person.

George Clooney ugly? Is she kidding? He has been voted the sexiest bachelor numerous times and is extremely handsome. He has gotten even better looking as he has gotten older. Someone doesn’t know class when it hits her in the face!

Wow, I am always amazed at how rude some people are..

Ideal Reality:

He’s gorgeous! As for a role on ER..I too think it would be a stupid move. Although a brief cameo wouldn’t be so out there….

I love George! It would be great to have him back on ER in a guest starring role—I would like to see all of the former stars back on.
George, I do have to say that even though you are georgeous, you look like you should be Sarah’s father. Sorry.

Doug And Carol returning with the twins would be a great way to end the show.

The show went downhill after most of the orginial castmates left, it would be awesome if he came back, i think it would bring more of an audience back to the show.

As much of a George Clooney fan as I am, I don’t want to see him return to ER. The shows a sinking ship, with bad acting and horrible plots. I only want to see George keep working up the lader in Hollywood, not down.

Sally Field, William H. Macy, Don Cheadle and Forest Whitaker are oscar winners/oscar nominees who have appeared on ER. It’s wouldn’t be a step down for Clooney to reappear on ER after winning an oscar.

Dennis Smith March 17th, 2008

btw…….Ladder is spelt with two Ds. A sinking ship? 14 seasons babe isn’t too shabby. A lot of shows die after 5 or 6. If the show was doing so bad….It wouldn’t have lasted this long. No one on the present staff would know who Dr. Ross is anyway. Abby and Luka are the only people who even know Carol Hathaway. Dr Ross was already gone when they came on. When Gloria Reuben came in a couple of months ago. No one knew her. ‘cept for a couple of nurses. Dr Carter maybe….D.r Ross I don’t thinks it would work.
