Kirstie Alley Signs Deal with Oprah

Kirstie Alley has signed a deal with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions to develop television projects — which could include her own daily show.

“Kirstie is a tremendous talent who is incredibly relatable and a true fan favorite,” said Tim Bennett, president of Harpo Productions.

The actress, 57, recently stepped away from her role as an official spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, and announced plans to launch her own weigh-loss brand.

Alley, who notably modeled a bikini The Oprah Winfrey Show after losing 75 lbs., said she hopes her willingness to be honest and open will come together to help her “offer something totally fresh for the television audience.”

KIRSTIE ALLEY IS 57 YEARS OLD????? I’m astounded! Weight fluctuations be damned; she looks FABULOUS! You go, girl! Your comedic talent is rare and much appreciated. Stay centered, and I will eagerly watch for your next contribution to the crazy, mixed up world we call entertainment.

Any of you out there who have potshots to take at Ms. Alley ask yourselves - would YOU go on Oprah in a bikini at her age? Let he who has no dog-dirt on his sneaker be the first to step on the white carpet. In a thong. Work it, Kirstie!

I would like to respond to Kirsty’s 75 weight loss. I previously had been a client of Jenny Craig’s at the Crowfoot Calgary location, N.W. Calgary. There had been plenty of discussion post Kirsty’s Oprah debut, wearing the bikini. There is no way Kirsty weighed only “145lbs” and the Jenny Craig staff also maintained this to be a fact. She may have lost a 75lbs but was not being truthful in stating her very weight was 145lbs. How about some accountability here. I myself weigh 145lbs and I am of the opinion a gal would not have thick thighs like that at 145lbs; standing 5′9″. I am all for a grand weight loss but please declare your accurate weigh in.

I had no idea she was 57!! After I read that I double checked. She is 57! I thought she looked great after her weight loss now I really appreciate how AWESOME she looks. I am 40 and overweight and know how hard it is to lose weight when your older. She should be proud. She really looks terrific. I hope she keeps doing well

I also mimick what the prior Calgarian stated about Kirsty’s weight after the reveal on Oprah. People should really be accountable to their very public declarations…..Rosie was correct when she shared on national television that Kirsty was not sharing the goods on her actual weight. I also have chatted with other women and men about this and the Jenny Craig Brass should also be held accountable. Why is one awared for false advertising??
