Audrina Speaks Out on Topless Pics

Before she was on the Hills, Audrina Patridge wanted to be a model — a Playboy model, it appears. Nude photos of Lauren Conrad’s sweet and innocent roommate surfaced Wednesday, revealing a slightly naughtier side (and a lot more of Patridge) than previously seen.

“I took these photos years ago when I was just out of high school and beginning to model,” Patridge said through her rep after the pics were posted on the celeb blog What Would Tyler Durden Do (wwtdd.com). “I was young and very trusting of others and I didn’t know to protect myself. It is a lesson learned, for myself, and hopefully for the young girls who look up to me.”

Patridge — now 22 — was reportedly “always comfortable in front of the camera and wasn’t shy or nervous about doing a nude shoot” at an L.A. mansion, sources at Splash News told What Would Tyler Durden Do. Her rep clarified to PEOPLE that “Audrina never wanted them submitted to Playboy. And there were taken nearly 5 years ago.” TMZ.com was first to post Patridge’s reaction.

Many other young girls have gone through this same thing as well. When you are young and you have your mind set to something you want to do like modeling, you will do whatever it takes to get there. She will get through this.

The press should leave her alone. She was young, we all do things we regret. There are more important things than what happened three years ago to Audrina. I’m sure she doesn’t appreciate the negative publicity.

I just think it’s terrible to have brought this forward, she made a mistake that she regretted, someone wanted their 15 mins or bucks of fame in her moment of regret and it wasn’t right.

I don’t feel sorry for her at all. This is a chance you take when you take any nude photos or do a sex tape. It will come back to haunt you.

She seems like a sweet girl. Cut her some slack. We all make mistakes and with we hadnt don certain things. Posing nude isnt the worst thing in the world. Good grief. Not even remotley pressworthy or scandalous.
