As a musician/producer myself I’d have to say musically the production (back music, melody) is very similiar stuff on the radio now, it is catchy. However her vocals just don’t compell me, they’re borderline off-key despite the fact that I can tell they’re very mixed (i.e. pitch fixed) They’re also very nasally (which could be a result of her nose job) I’d rather hear someone like Kelly Clarkson doing vocals on a song like this.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m normally a Speidi hater myself but the song isn’t THAT bad. She also has somewhat of a unique style to her, mind it is digitally enhanced, but who isn’t these days? As much as they are annoying, they are good at learning when and where to release things, and they seem to stay in the spotlight. They are extremely annoying, but as a person who is also in the industry, I think it’s better to see a girl trying to become something than to be some drug addict like Paris Hilton. I am not a huge fan of the show meaning I started watching it after the fight so I have no sides to say that I think is better then the other. That being said I think it is mean to bash her with most of the comments I have read… but I would like to comment on the actual singing, it is very nasal-ee. If you will. It sounds like you are not actually belting out your voice, but pushing it through your nose. Go to a voice instructor and have them teach you to focus your voice out of your nose and it will sound better. You have the look and the spot light, make it worth it. But my opinion, you are comfortable in front of the camera so run with acting.

I have always loved The Hills and all the girls on the show–Lauren, Audrina, Whitney, Heidi (and soon Lo- yay!). While it is a shame that Heidi and Lauren do not get along anymore (for whatever reason), it is not our place to point fingers and say nasty things about any one person. Friends make mistakes and fight, but they also change and forgive. Everyone seems to forget how sweet Heidi is. I believe deep down she and Lauren still care about each other, and that’s why they are both so hurt. There are people dying for our country and our freedom right now. It is stupid to harbor anger towards our fellow Americans over things that, in the long run, don’t matter. Hopefully they will figure out their troubles and return to being friends. In the meantime, I think we should support Lauren with her fashion line and Heidi with her musical career. They are both talented in different ways. And that’s why we love them! xoxoxo

If you have to sing through a synthesizer perhaps singing is not in your design. Maybe she doesn’t doesn’t listen to her music after it’s recorded. Hey–in all honesty Heidi has a lot to over come after destroying her image on The Hills–people are automatically tough on her. The song it self is a “safe song” and i think to get going in the industry you need to take some chances with something a little more on edge. Okay, well, this is definately a vast improvement from her now infamous “Higher” video…considering the fact that she could ONLY improve from that one. I managed to make it through the entire 3:30 +/- with only having to press pause once (I became annoyed by her voice and needed to take a break form it briefly). By no means is she talented or does she possess an inkling of star power…but she needs to do something to keep us amused. I just wish it wasn’t “singing” that she chose.

Well… the Drum line and base line is kinda catchy, but I can’t get past the fact that her voice sounds like an 11 year old. If she wants to continue this she really needs to see a voice coach to teach her how to bring some depth and tone into her voice. Well speaking first about the music, I think the Piano in it is really beautiful even though it plays the same thing over and over again. I think it makes the music itself pretty good. But as far as she goes, she probably has a half decent voice, not amazing but half decent, but you can’t tell because her songs are so produced. They don’t really give you a chance to see what she sounds like. And the words I’m sure are pretty powerful to her, however they don’t really flow well in the song. Some of them are thrown together really awkwardly I think. I don’t know, singing probably isn’t her thing, but because of who she is, she has the ability to get it released publically instead of just singing in her shower.

I think had I heard it on the radio and not known it was Heidi I would have tolerated it and possibly even enjoyed it, however, I can’t stop thinking about the “higher” video, juvenile behavior, etc. I honestly think that if she lost Spencer and respected herself, I ( and many others) would really gain respect for her –If not as an artist at least as a woman.

The song isnt all that great, the people that will like it are the people who don’t really care to much about what they listen to, people who are just looking for something to dance to (my five year old for example was dancing to it). Actually, it wasn’t too bad but the vocoder assistance was overkill. The melody was nice which helped the song. Because of the sound affects, it made it a little difficult to hear all the words. I only got about 20 seconds in before I had to turn it off. The sad part is the beat is actually good but her voice just isn’t cutting it. I had slight hope when the song started because the keyboard and synthesizer were pretty decent…her voice just ruins it. Poor girl! She has no vocal range–the song is the same five notes. I’m not even sure if she can sing on key due to the insane amounts of electronic correction and the muffly vocoder effects. Plus, she can probably afford a ton of experts to handle the recording and mixing. I’m guessing anyone could have walked in off the street and done this same performance.

I may not like her or her antics personally, but I will not let that affect my judgement: The song isn’t horrible. It is very catchy and I see it getting a lot of airplay on stations like Z100 or KTU 103.5. She does need to work on her sound a little more to make it her own, but other than that, the single is actually okay. She may not have the best voice out there, but she is still following her dream of becoming a singer and making SOMETHING happen, in spite of what the majority may think. That can’t be said for a lot of us who may aspire to also sing, but don’t have the motivation to do it.

I actually like this song she isn’t trying to sound like Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera. Which is an improvement if I may so myself. If she can keep this up I MIGHT actually go out and by her album. As long as “Higher” isn’t on there.
