I'm actually not surprised by how many people here posted their dislike of Idol giving charity to other countries. How very selfish of you. We are very lucky in this country. We should be appreciative of the things we take for granted - like access to medicine, food, and clean water. We should feel very blessed to live in the United States of America. Good for Ryan Seacrest to give something of his earnings back! Idol Gives Back raises money for many different causes – both here in the U.S. and in other countries. What I am more concerned about is the apparent lack of reading ability by people posting. Please take the time to research the various charities that the proceeds will help!!! Many, if not most of them will benefit AMERICA!!!!! Furthermore, it shouldn't matter whether he donated his check for a night, a month, or a year. Point blank, HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT! The fact that he is a celebrity will always draw criticism about his motives and whether it was a publicity stunt. I think he was genrous to do so. I think Ryan did a wonderful thing.
