Simon makes 4 million dollars a year, divided by 52 weeks, divided by 7 that gives you about $11,000 for a donation to one charity. I don't know about you, but no matter how much money I make in the future writing a check for that amount would still be pretty intense. Not to mention this is only one charity out of quite a few that he donates to. Plus, it isn't the personal amount that he spends, it is about how many people it helps, which if a malaria vaccine costs $2, that means he saved 5,500 people. Now if that isn't charitable, I don't know what is. If you figure it this way. I donated $100 last year and I surely could have donated more, that isn't even close to a half a days pay for me, but I wouldn't want anyone chastising because of it. I recommend we commend Simon & Ryan for their donation and dip in our own pockets to follow their example, that was their intent. A health donation on our part will likely cure a case of sour grapes.
