Priscilla Presley Makes a Graceful Split from Dancing

April 16, 2008

The queen of Graceland knew it was coming. After finding herself in the bottom two two weeks in a row, Priscilla Presley got her walking papers on Dancing with the Stars.

When host Tom Bergeron delivered the bad news, Presley turned to her partner Louis Van Amstel for a hug. And she had nothing but praise for the show as well, telling the audience that it had been “an incredible, life-changing experience.”

After being penalized for doing a lift during her Viennese waltz the week before, it was Monday night’s rumba routine that did Presley in. Despite doing two splits—two!—during her Latin number, the judges labeled the 62-year-old actress’ rumba dull.

Joining Presley and Van Amstel in the red zone were Cristian de la Fuente and two-time champ Cheryl Burke, whose rumba also failed to impress the judges.

Tell us: Did DWTS fans make the right choice in sending Presley home? Were you surprised to see Cristian and Cheryl in the bottom two? And who’s next to go?

That is pretty amazing that a 62 year old or how ever old she is could do the splits. I can’t believe it. I guess it is a good thing that she is staying in shape though!

Priscilla is such an interesting and beautiful woman who seems to always be up for something new. She carries herself with old school class and charm and I enjoy seeing her wherever she is–doing an interview or the splits. I think she has really done her best to live her best life and I wish her well.

Pricilla Presley is timeless, and graceful. I think it took a lot of courage to do what she’s done, she’ll always be beautiful to us! But the competition is getting tougher and it was time for her to go! WE LOVE YOU BUNCHES PRICILLA!!!! XOXO

that is pretty amazing that she made it as long as she did i thought that she would get kicked off week one… so WAY TO BE PRISCILLA

DWTS fan April 16th, 2008

I think America got it right this week.I also think it was a hard decision. There were a few couples that really struggled with this weeks dances.Yes Priscilla was good but compared to some of the other dancers, she failed in comparison.Marissa isn’t all that graceful I know she really tries hard but she , in my opinion, lacks the graceful movements needed in dance.Kristy is kinda like the shoe in.She’s graceful and knows how to perform.Marlee is unbelievable.I know that we are not supposed to take into consideration that she is deaf, but come on.She has been given such a gift.It is so amazing to see her out there nailing it. Lastly, it’s a great show. Entertaining, up-lifting and Tom Bergeron has got to be the BEST host of all of the reality shows around. He should be given the coveted “Mirror ball trophy”. See you all next week.

I think it should have been Marissa to go. But the overall winner should be Mario, Christian, or
Jason

I was shocked at how good Priscilla was from the beginning…forget the fact that she is 62, she was good. It’s getting down to some real good dancers, so it’s hard to say who should have gone home, but she impressed most of AMerica that she could dance that well from the begininning…good job Priscilla!

I hate seeing anyone leave because they are all entertaining. I think Louis is great but he picked boring choreography and Prisilla’s outfit was not appealing. I think it is going to be Jason & Kristi in the finals for sure but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Marlee there in the end either.

I’m sad to see her go….yet very grateful she was on to begin with…
She represents the “seasoned” group of ladies…and she did it well.
Priscilla, you did an amazing job….and we’ll miss you ! I’m sure your family is very proud ;)
See you at Graceland !

amy April 16th, 2008

I thought she was fab for her age! SHe looks like she could be in her 40s at 62, that’s pretty good. She had a certain elegance but I think it was her turn to go. She was classy to say teh judges were fair.
