Last Night’s DWTS: Marlee’s Last Mambo?

April 22, 2008

Earning straight 7’s from the judges, Marlee Matlin and pro Fabian Sanchez nabbed the lowest score of the night with a mambo that Len Goodman said was “off.” So who was on? Everyone else!

• A gyrating Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska cha-cha-cha’d to a solid 24.

• Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough kept the chemistry flowing — as well as the are-they-or-aren’t-they rumors — with a sweet rumba that earned a 24. (A beach segment showed her getting awfully close to his bare ripped chest … and remember this kiss?)

• Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke did a little happy dance after earning straight 9’s in their best showing of the season, thanks to a nearly flawless and completely elegant foxtrot (nevermind Cheryl’s poufy pink feather gown!).

• Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani followed with their own personal coup, finally netting 9’s for a Viennese waltz! The big numbers came from judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, while Len held back with an 8 — though he said Marissa looked like a “princess” on the dancefloor.

• Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas’s hoppin’ jive brought Carrie to her feet and nabbed a 30 — the highest possible score, with 10’s from each judge.

• And just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any hotter, Mario and Karina Smirnoff’s sizzling rumba landed a 28 and had Carrie exclaiming, “That was better than good sex!”

Tell us: Who’s getting voted off? Whose dance did you love the most? And what was the hottest moment?

Daisy April 22nd, 2008

Am I the only one who isn’t and hasn’t been impressed by Jason Taylor and Edyta? I really love Edyta so I expected better from her and her partner but something just seems off to me. It can’t be cause of him being a football player cause Jerry Rice was better than this to me. I really do hope Marlee doesn’t go home tomorrow. I think she has alot more left to do. She just has to be given the chance. The same for Marissa. I love them both. Hopefully both will be safe.

Frenchie April 22nd, 2008

I have to disagree with Daisy. I am very impressed with Jason, and I love them both. I love Marlee, but I think this is her night to go home. Keep it up Jason!

Laura April 22nd, 2008

Cristian and Cheryl do nothing for me. I was not a fan of their foxtrot. Marlee is admirable and I love her but she just can’t compete at this level and it is starting to get uncomfortable. I feel for her everytime the judges, however diplomatic they are, have to criticize her. Krisi is the best. She deserves to win. But the one I really hope goes home is Shannon. I am tired of watching her cry and her endless need to be comforted is annoying. Buck up girl! It’s a competition. I have seen her do the same wounded bird act on celebrity poker shows.

It’s time for Marlee or Shannon to go home

Love Marissa and Kristi!!!

Jumper April 22nd, 2008

I totally agree with Laura….Shannon always acts like she is so sad…and she always makes herself seem vunerable. Kristi and Mario rocked (of course) and you almost know that Kristi and Mark are gonna do good, so its not a surprise that they scored the first perfect score. Jason did good, but my favorite was Marissa and Tony. Marissa just always makes me smile..she is just so funny!

Andrea April 22nd, 2008

im sorry, kristi is good but she bores me…jason doesnt do anything for me either… i feel for marlee but think this is her week to go home. and i dont even watch christians.. i guess this season is just for me to watch the dances and the goofy outfits/song choices. i also think that while maybe shannon isnt the best dancer, the judges are completly hard on her

KC April 22nd, 2008

Can we send Samantha Harris home? I know this is a little bit of an immature comment, but she drives me insane! She is not good at what she does.
And unfortunately I think it is Marlee’s turn to go home.

Mindy April 22nd, 2008

Marlee isn’t getting the scores to compete at this level, but she does have the fan votes to keep her there. It wouldn’t surprise me if someone else went home tonight instead.

Daisy, my sister is watching the show for the first time this season and Jason does nothing for her either.

I am hoping for Kristi to win this season, but I feel like she doesn’t need my votes so I vote for Christian every week. For the finals, my preference would be Kristi, Christian and Mario.

Cathy April 22nd, 2008

Mindy-that is how people get sent home. People think theor favorites are safe, so they don’t vote, and then…poof. Gone. Anyway, this is so not going to be PC, but what “fan base” does Marly really have? It is not a fan base, it is a sympathy base. She is a really cool person who has overcome adversity to carve a niche for herself on Hallmark television, but she is not a dancer. She is the weakest dancer left, and should therefore go home…regardless of disability.

HLS April 22nd, 2008

Ugh, I agree with some of you about Kristi. She is a marvelous skater and a great dancer but is SOOOO boring. Each week it’s the same old stuff. I like seeing someone who continues to improve each week and builds on their performance….that’s what DWTS is about anyway. Everytime she comes on we get up for snacks!
