Britney Spears Rehearses for Mother

The back-to-business Britney Spears arrived bright and early to the Fox Studios in Century City on Tuesday for a table read in preparation for her second guest appearance on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Spears headed out around 8:30 am and made a quick stop at Starbucks in Beverly Hills before arriving at Fox.

Spears first appeared on the show in late March playing a receptionist named Abby and will return to the role in an episode titled “Everything Must Go” airing May 12. In the episode, Spears and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris’s character) taunt Ted, played by Josh Radnor, by pretending they’re in a relationship. Barney, who is desperate for a response from Abby pops her a shocking question.

The singer’s first spot on the show earned her positive reviews and brought in the show’s highest ratings yet. — Jessica Herndon

The show is really good on its own. HIMYM doesn’t need Britney Spears for a good show, and frankly she wasn’t that good the first time she was on the show. Good for her that she’s getting her act together and all, but let’s not oversell it here.

The only reason the ratings were higher is because people watched out of couriosity. Did she wear underware? Did she wash her hair? Could she speak without slurring her words? She offers nothing to that show. Sarah Chalke…yes. The cast sees this. Why should they have to tiptoe around what they say about her? They are professional actors. She is a has been.
