Dancing with the Stars

Shannon Goes, Cristian Stays on Dancing

April 29, 2008

Dancing with the Stars fans had to wait until the live results show Tuesday to see whether Cristian de la Fuente’s injured arm got him eliminated from the competition — or whether another dance team got the boot.

De la Fuente was spared!

Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough were voted off instead. “I’ve made a friend for life,” said Elizabeth, who cried throughout their final dance. The pair were joined in the bottom two by Marissa Jaret Winokur and pro Tony Dovolani.

As for de la Fuente, an MRI found he suffered a ruptured tendon in his bicep. “I need surgery in order to put it back together,” he said. But in good news for his fans, de la Fuente added that his doctor said the operation could be delayed — meaning he can go on dancing. “I would like to be there and not give up,” he said.

De la Fuente had hurt his arm Monday night while performing the samba with partner Cheryl Burke, and earned the night’s lowest combined score (46/60). He was evaluated by a physician the next morning, but at the request of producer Conrad Green, all cast and crew were asked not to discuss de la Fuente’s condition until after the telecast.

Yay! Didn’t want or need to see Shannon dance anymore. Sad to see Derek go, but very happy I don’t have to watch the judges pacify Shannon with their toned down comments. Her hips do not move period!!! The fake a– did not help, and I’m sorry, she really thought she was hot sh– last night…but NOT!!! Good-bye, good riddance…Shannon has left the dance floor!

Can we all say FINALLY! Now I can watch DWTS and truly enjoy each couple dancing. Shannon’s lack of hip action was truly hard to watch. I really hope that Derek wises up and moves on to someone less needy. He deserves so much more!

Last week’s tantrum came back to bite them in the butt. I was really starting to like her til that incident last week. Besides that compared to the others she wasn’t as good as she needed to be in the stage of the competition. Sorry to say I’m glad she was the one to go.

Shannon and Derek gone? HOORAY!

Daisy April 29th, 2008

I meant in this stage of the competition. But anyways I also glad Cristian is able to continue. I just hope his decision to delay the surgery won’t turn out to be a bad decision.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that felt that way. The only problem is that we’re going to have to watch Shannon cry at the end again! OMG, she is such the drama queen. I hope she doesn’t blame Cristian for his injury and that’s why she lost…but then again she did blame everyone for whatever problem she had this season. This taught me one thing, I don’t want to watch Shannon act anymore. This was a bad decision for her. It probably moved her from the B list down to the C list.

Can Cristian honestly think that he can continue to dance competitively? If not, he should bow out now. Why risk your health for some TV show?

Colleen April 29th, 2008

I’m so glad Christian is safe! I hope he doesn’t his arm more though. I’m glad Shannon left- she always looks awkward dancing. I’ll miss seeing Derek. Hopefully Marissa will go next.
