And OMG, why don’t you go back to your David Archuleta fansites and give it a rest, because clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about. You may not like the rock genre, but David Cook can sing–and a lot better than most rockers out there. He has the best vocal range of any of the guys left standing. He is actually an amazing lyrical rocker. He may have covered the covers of other rockers, but in my opinion, he actually has improved on most of them because he tweaks the melodies and adds to them, creating something both beautifully haunting and edgy at the same time. And his falsetto is gorgeous.

He is just plain fantastically talented, and for the record, he has NEVER had a recording contract. He recorded those two albums independently with his own blood, sweat, tears and cash!

David Archuleta won $100,000 (!) on Star Search Junior five years ago. The kid has amazing talent but he needs to mature. To take the tremendous potential he has and to pimp him out prematurely so that he comes across like a Disney Cruise Ship performer is just a travesty. He’s already damaged his vocal cords and he’s only 17!

Syesha is very talented too, and I’m glad she’s still in it because Carly was the only other singer in the top 10 who had any vocal range whatsoever. My problem with Syesha is that she comes across more like a singing actress than an original artist. I like the edgier Syesha we saw on that IGB/Rhianna number, “Don’t Stop the Music.” Come back, Syesha!!

Jason is very cool and has great taste in music, but he’s no better than thousand of Indy folk singers performing in coffee bars and small clubs around the country. Perhaps he has some original music that sets him apart. I wish him the best, but he is completely out of his league in terms of singing talent.
