Ryan Seacrest Defends Paula Abdul

Ryan Seacrest came to the defense of Paula Abdul Wednesday during American Idol’s live results show.

Addressing Tuesday’s broadcast when Paula critiqued Jason Castro’s second song before he performed it, Ryan spoke up to put an end to gossip about his costar. (Paula defended herself earlier, calling the awkward moment an “honest mistake” on Ryan’s KIIS-FM radio show.)

“Last night the judges were thrown a curve ball on the air, which is just part of a live show,” Ryan said from the stage while a nervous-looking Paula watched from the judges’ panel. “But it sparked a lot of gossip about Paula. And I read some of this online this morning and just for the record, the rumors — they’re not true. She’s part of our family and we love her.”

Paula looked touched as the audience clapped and both Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell gave her a kiss on the cheek, which prompted Ryan to joke, “I think Simon still wants to hook up with her.”

well i think that it could be true about paula being given a script to read from, maybe it not just paula who is fake, maybe AMERICAN IDOL already knows who will win. she made the MISTAKE of reading something that she should have read at the end of the show. hahah, I THINK THE SHOW IS FAKE. wow it hurts me to think that since i run home to see this show. i hope i’m wrong!!!!!!.

At the beginning of the show, Ryan explained that the judges would be critiquing the idols after they sang both songs, however, that was not the case. The show was very rushed and out the blue it seemed they bring out all idols after the first song and ask for a quick review. Randy handled it well and it seems too confusing for Paula. Not an easy task on live TV with very little notice. Some people are quick on their feet while others need to process. Honest mistake. Leave Paula alone!! You go girl.

Mary Ann you run home to your trailer to watch the show? thta is sad on many levels. You seem like a decent person, but you cannot fill your empty life with idiotic staged shows like this? It is so obvious the show is lame and scripted, and quite possibly, fixed. get real folks, its called life and big business…..

Whatever….Jason was the worst on there after Brook…he sucks every weeks - I don’t think is cuties smile and blue eyes make up for his lack of singing ability. If it weren’t for tons of teenage girls thinking his dirty dreads (yuck…he even talked about one of them falling off in some girls hand when they went to kiss once..disgusting) were cute he wouldn’t be on there. His lack lazical attitude about being there is really sad as well….when some of these people REALLY want to be there and he just doesn’t seem to even care is frankly a HUGE turn off of his singing.
