Project Runway is Out … Of New York!

May 2, 2008

Project Runway is entering its sixth season — with some major changes! The design competition is likely to move from Bravo to Lifetime and will be partially filmed in L.A., according to a spokesperson for the Weinstein Company, which produces the show. The decision was partially influenced by host Heidi Klum’s schedule, says the rep: “This was an opportunity for her to be close to home and her family.” (Klum — who is married to singer Seal — has two children: Leni, 4, and Henry, 2, and Johan, 17 months.)

But fear not, Mood Fabrics! The show’s grand finale at New York Fashion Week will still be a pivotal point of the reality competition. “We’re still fully vested in fashion week,” says the rep.

For the seventh season, the show will return to New York full time. –Cara Shultz

Minor detail, but this should read that she has three children.

I LOVE P.R.! I also LOVE Bravo! I wonder if moving to Lifetime will change the show…? You all know how those Lifetime Originals can be! Let’s keep it on BRAVO!!!! I think L.A. will work, as long as Bryant Park is in the finale!

Whatever the network, Fans will watch and support the show! :)

Seems to me that there are three - and I know she has three - not two. Wakey! Wakey!

I don’t watch Lifetime… lame channel. Keep in on Bravo! I don’t care if it takes place in LA or NY but I imagine the fashions might not be as sophisticated with a la la land influence.

Everytime a show is successful and popular, someone tampers with the format or the people “working” the show. People do not approve the changes, then the networks can’t figure out why the ratings go down. If a show is a big hit - why ruin it? Obviously the viewing public loves the show the way it is. If Project Runway moves to Lifetime, you know that some “biggie” will want to make changes either to the format, the rules or hire someone new (usually a girl friend who needs publicity). I realize that this is a pessimistic viewpoint, but viewers see it happen all of the time. Please don’t change Project Runway !!

It doesn’t seem to be a Lifetime show. I watch Lifetime. The shows are predictably Lifetimelike, whatever that means. Also, NY is where the fashion is, and that’s where the show should be.

That quote about having two children–someone needs to proofread their work before publishing it.

Probably will stop watching as I love Bravo and if you missed an episode you could always catch up plus you can always catch a group of episodes at one sitting. Do not like Lifetime channel at all so sorry to say that my favorite show may be over with for me. Someone posted earlier…why when something works…after awhile it gets changed and things are never the same. Well, very sorry show is moving to Lifetime.
