It’s Official: Jennie Garth Joins the New 90210

May 10, 2008

Kelly Taylor is returning to that exclusive zip code, 90210.

As was rumored, Jennie Garth will make special guest appearances on the CW’s new spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210, playing a guidance counselor at her alma mater, West Beverly High, the network announced Saturday.

Garth is the first original cast member to sign on to the spinoff — though many former stars (including Tori Spelling and Ian Ziering) are lobbying for parts. Since the announcement was made last month, the cast has been rapidly filling up: Lori Loughlin has signed on to play Debbie Mills, wife of the high school principal who returns to take care of his alcoholic mother.

The high school principal has not yet been cast.

Yay!!! I can’t wait for the new 90210! I loved the old one and i hope that they will bring back a lot of the old cast members for special guest spots. Just please let the new story lines for the old characters make sense with where they were when the show ended….

I especially like the first 4 seasons…I thought it became too much like a daytime soap after that….abet, it was still ok. I’m looking forward to see if they can re-ignite the magic the show once had…..it won’t be easy…..they had some good chemistry of actors, especially in the earlier years.

Are you kidding?! There is no way that this show will make it. The original 90210 was awsome, you can not duplicate it.

I am such a 90210 fan. They should bring back Tiffany Amber Thesin. Drama!

Ok, so Kelly is the guidance counselor…Donna and David should be the wacky neighbors of the main characters, Brandon sould have gone on to better things but didn’t and became the owner of a dot.com that failed so he came back to town and now runs the Peach Pit because Nat passed on and Steve is the owner of the coolest club ever– the After Dark. Dylan took off somewhere and no one has seen him in years…He should then come back later on as one of the main characters fathers. Then he and Kelly finally get married. Donna is pregnant for the 2nd time and becomes the crazy “sex” ed teacher and David is a landscaper and still sometimes DJ’s at the After Dark.

I liked the original show myself. I would like to see many if not all of the original cast members return. That probably will not happen because they are involved in other projects. Still this new show is generating a lot of interest. So bring it on and let the dice fall as they may.
