What are goals if you don’t set out to accomplish them, right? That seemed to be Georgina’s mantra as she set out to ruin her “friend” Serena (Blake Lively), then steal her boyfriend Dan (Penn Badgley) on last night’s Gossip Girl.
When we last left the Upper East Side, Serena spilled the secret she’d been harboring since her return home: she killed someone! Lucky for her, her BFF Blair (Leighton Meester) was ready to do battle against G on her behalf and called in some much-needed backup from frenemies Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick).
While Serena finally came clean with Blair, she couldn’t bear to tell Dan the truth–and instead, told him she’d slept with someone else. After all, that sounds a little better than being labeled a murderer, right?
But S’s secret slowly leaked all over the UES: her mother Lily van der Woodsen finds and watches Georgina’s snuff film, which reveals that the same night Serena and Nate slept together, she also killed someone.
Press the rewind button: Feeling awful, Serena left the scene of her first crime (doing the deed with Nate) and met up with Georgina, who had set up a secret tape in hopes of filming Serena having sex tape with a boy named Pete. Not in the mood, Serena and Pete decide to do some blow. Poor Pete has a seizure. Panicked, Serena and Georgina leave him and he eventually emerges from the hotel–in a body bag.
While S’s world is unraveling, G takes her opportunity to move in on lonely, neglected Dan. Maybe nice girls do finish last–at least in G’s book.
