Simon Cowell’s Pick to Win Idol: David Cook

Sure, they’re supposed to give constructive criticism each week — but what about making endorsements? Simon Cowell tells Blender.com in a new interview that he thinks David Cook should win this year’s competition.

“I think he’s done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks,” Cowell says. “He’s taken more risks, he’s done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I’m gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win.”

Perhaps Cowell is a bit biased. He did coach Cook this week, selecting songs for him to sing. –Brian Orloff

I agree with Simon 100%. Based on David Cook’s risks and originality with the way he sings the songs, he deserves to win.

Both David’s are great.. but David Cook has the maturity and voice range over David A. Both will have a successful career in the music industry. David Cook should be the winner! Way to go David Cook!

Most times I don’t agree with Simon, but this time he is absolutely freaking RIGHT!!! David Cook is the best…week after week, he has continue to show his star power. There is no stopping him!!

Cook the screamer will win but little David should.Cook is not a singer he is a screamer.When Cook puts out a cd they should give ear plugs with it.
