Rosie & Fran Drescher In Talks For a New Show

May 15, 2008

At a luncheon in her honor at The Friars Club in Manhattan Thursday, Fran Drescher (The Nanny) shared a details about the television show she and Rosie O’Donnell are in the process of developing — a show that they would costar in if it becomes a reality.

“It’s called The New 30, and it’s about old friends who are living very different lives, but they live in the same building in Murray Hill, Manhattan,” Drescher explained. “It’s basically about middle-aged women on the verge of a midlife crisis.”

O’Donnell herself had talked about developing a show with Drescher on her blog in the past, but this is the first time a title has been revealed.

“We’re in talks with NBC,” Drescher says. “It’s not real yet, but we’re talking to NBC, so we’ll see what happens!” –Mark Dagostino

Tell us: Would you watch a show about middle aged women in New York starring Fran Drescher and Rosie O’Donnell?

No way, I can’t think of two more obnoxious people to watch.

Hell Yes! I Love Fran Drescher!!!! Bring back the Nanny!!!! Rosie’s pretty funny too! Props to whoever produces this!

Krissy May 15th, 2008

I would love to see Fran Drescher on the T.V. again. I was disappointed to see “The Nanny” end. I don’t care to see Rosie O’Donnell she’s obnoxious.

Annette May 15th, 2008

love Fran, hate Rosie

Jackie May 15th, 2008

I’d only watch it if they replace Rosie.

Annalisa May 15th, 2008

I’d love to watch it if it were Fran, not Rosie. But it could be a real hit.

Pura Smith May 15th, 2008

I’m already looking forward to it! Both Fran & Rosie are very good actors with such dynamic personalities that a show with the two of them would be a welcomed change from all the crap that’s been on t.v. these last few years. (Especially the “Reality shows”). I really hope NBC or any other network will give it a shot.

Just can’t see it. You can only take yourself so far in TV. Fran’s accent, Rosie’s meanness. Nope, just don’t see it.
