Rosie & Fran Drescher In Talks For a New Show

May 15, 2008

At a luncheon in her honor at The Friars Club in Manhattan Thursday, Fran Drescher (The Nanny) shared a details about the television show she and Rosie O’Donnell are in the process of developing — a show that they would costar in if it becomes a reality.

“It’s called The New 30, and it’s about old friends who are living very different lives, but they live in the same building in Murray Hill, Manhattan,” Drescher explained. “It’s basically about middle-aged women on the verge of a midlife crisis.”

O’Donnell herself had talked about developing a show with Drescher on her blog in the past, but this is the first time a title has been revealed.

“We’re in talks with NBC,” Drescher says. “It’s not real yet, but we’re talking to NBC, so we’ll see what happens!” –Mark Dagostino

Tell us: Would you watch a show about middle aged women in New York starring Fran Drescher and Rosie O’Donnell?

Sure thing. This is a winning duo.. and I’ll watch Rosie anywhere, anytime. She’s a gutsy, articulate speaker of the truth who has been sorely missed on the tube. Fran is priceless… The combination is unbeatable.

two good friends in comedy…a recipe for success!
we need to return to the good old sitcoms
and this smells like fun!
i wish them many Emmy’s!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t really see Rosie as being a stable enough employee to remain with a television series. She wouldn’t be there long. Would love to see Fran in something again though.

In a heart beat I would watch their show, as I am a middle-aged woman myself. Too many reality shows by kids and young adults that pertain to nothing I do–murders, sex fiends, lack of morals and true friendship, completely unethical conduct, and EXCESSIVE stupidity already on the air. No wonder most of the world’s population goes around with their heads up their butts with guns in their fists. How about some “REAL” life issues by real life people, instead of what simply sells garbage to an already overly-loaded young public in reality shows and junk movies?

I LOVE FRAN(NANNY)& ROSIE! ON A COUPLE OF THE NANNY SHOWS, I SAW ROSIE, SHE WAS FANTASTIC, TRUMP WASN’T BAD EITHER, BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ROSIE, TO GET THESE 2 BITCHES TOGETHER IS A HEAVEN IN PROGRESS, AND I MEAN FEMALES…LOL, COME ON GANG IF YOU ARE 40 OR OLDER YOU WILL LOVE THESE LADIES MAKING US LAUGH OUR BALL S, OFF EVEN WOMEN…HA HA .I CAN’T WAIT, IF NBC SAYS NO THEN THEY ARE LIKE BAD BAD INVESTORS………………….EH TRUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

purplesky May 17th, 2008

yes i would watch it we need more women in comedy,…

Marva May 18th, 2008

I’d love to see both women back on TV. Frans last show wasn’t very good but, i think they can do better. And Rosie playing a character would be great!!!

Gina May 18th, 2008

Fran Drescher can be funny at times but her laugh is very annoying, as for Rosie, her wit and humor left after her TV show. She has become an angry, and mean person. I don’t think this show would last long.
