Desperate Housewives Finale Jumps Ahead 5 Years

May 19, 2008

Wisteria Lane got all topsy-turvy on Sunday’s season finale of Desperate Housewives. And we don’t mean a tornado-ravages-the-neighborhood natural disaster. The season finale ended with DH jumping five years ahead, foreshadowing the ladies’ futures. (Flash-forwards will be part of next year’s fifth season of Housewives, reports the AP.) –Nicholas White

Here’s what the ladies are like–we can’t believe we’re writing this–come 2013:

• Susan (Teri Hatcher) has a new man–and it’s not Mike Delfino (James Denton)!?
• Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) is a mommy, chasing two young daughters around the house in what looks like a house smock and no makeup. Have Gaby and Carlos’s fortunes taken a turn for the worst?
• Lynette (Felicity Huffman) being accused of child abuse by Kayla (which led to a bogus jailing) was just the start of a rocky motherhood. Both of her teen sons, Porter and Preston, are headed for juvenile delinquency.
• Bree (Marcia Cross), now a successful domestic goddess (à la Martha Stewart), has reunited with husband Orson (Kyle McLachlan).
• Katherine (Dana Delany) is now a permanent Housewife on Wisteria Lane, and her daughter Dylan gets a marriage proposal in Paris.

Tell us: Do you like how creator Marc Cherry has fast-forwarded DH to the future? What was the biggest finale cliffhanger? What do you hope will happen next season?

I really enjoyed last night episode but i cant believe that susan has a new man? I am happy that bri got back with her husband. Not too happy about Gabby and her look. She is the glamor girl of DH. Overall loved it but not too excited for the jumping of 5 years ahead. thanks

I love the idea of jumping ahead five years. Saw Susan on the view and she said it would give the actors the opportunity to play different characters. One question though: Is Nicolette Sheridan off the show after getting dumped by the ladies of Wisteria Lane?

I was not so pleased with the ending…but what I’m more concerned with is where can I get a shirt like Teri Hatcher had on at the end???
