Tearful goodbyes gave way to hope on Sunday’s episode of Army Wives as the women of the base are readjusting to life as the recent bombing eases into the past. Some of the wives lost more than others, including family members, but there may be new life — in the form of a baby — coming to the base. Let’s put down the tissues long enough to keep tabs of the happy tomorrows. –Nicholas White
• After Amanda’s death rips her family apart, her panic-stricken mom Claudia Joy (Kim Delaney) tries to separate herself from the grief. “I have to take one small step forward,” she says. “I have to appreciate the new life I have here.” Meanwhile, Amanda’s sister Emmalin (Caroline Pires) pleads with her parents not to fight.
• Joan (Wendy Davis) hints strongly that she will keep the baby with father Roland (Sterling K. Brown), after getting cold feet following a visit to the abortion clinic. Upon returning home, she tells Roland that he would be a “wonderful father,” for his “strength, steadiness, and love.”
• Roxy (Sally Pressman) gets a loving letter from husband Trevor while he is on assignment, which includes some Iraqi sand.
• Pamela (Brigid Banagh) puts down the radio microphone long enough to cuddle up with husband Chase, back from a tour. Readjusting to the routine is tough, but doesn’t take long when Chase makes dinner.
