• General Hospital won a record-breaking 10th Daytime Emmy during a ceremony Friday at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Ellen DeGeneres picked up her fourth consecutive statue for best talkshow host, but Rachael Ray’s show took the entertainment talkshow category and The Tyra Banks Show grabbed the award in the informative category. Oprah Winfrey would have beat them all had she not taken herself and her show out of the running in 1999.
• The Disney Channel’s Camp Rock snagged 8.9 million viewers Friday night, making it the most-watched cable program this year. After tuning in, Miley Cyrus and the cast of High School Musical went directly to work on new projects due out before the year is over.
• A 52-year-old woman gave birth to her twin grandchildren, serving as a surrogate for her daughter and son-in-law, who both competed on American Gladiators. Someone tell the writers of General Hospital!
