• Lost doesn’t begin airing new episodes until 2009, but fans can stay connected to the drama by joining the Lost Book Club at abc.com, where they’ll get new insight into books that have been seen or referenced during the show’s first four seasons and download audio copies on iTunes. First selection: Robinson Crusoe.
• JT Torregiani, ex-boyfriend of Paula Abdul, may be the star of ABC’s next Bachelor. Torregiani was asked to be on the program a few years ago, but turned it down because he was dating Abdul. The American Idol judge had some advice: “Be “Straight Up,” don’t “Rush Rush” into anything and remember that “Opposites Attract.”
• Britney Spears and Mary Kate Olsen were both left out of the running for Emmy consideration for their guest-starring roles in How I Met Your Mother and Weeds, respectively. Guess it’s back to relative obscurity for these two.
• Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Denis Leary are among the celebs slated to guest-star on the next season of The Simpsons. While Leary will play himself, Louis-Dreyfus will reprise her role as Snake’s girlfriend in the Sept. 28 season opener. Said Snake: “Totally awesome.”
