Rock of Love 2’s Bret Michaels & Ambre Lake Split

July 16, 2008

Poison frontman Bret Michaels and actress Ambre Lake made it official today: Their tour together ends here.

“It’s really sad,” says Lake, who explained that conflicting schedules ultimately worked against the couple. “Bret and I truly love each other and support each other. But with him touring so much and me trying to travel and work, we just didn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to our relationship. It was mutual. We’re both bummed.”

In a release from VH1, a rep for the rock star confirmed: “[Bret] and Ambre Lake really tried to make it work and although they still remain close friends, between his tour line-up and her work schedule there’s no time for a relationship.”

Lake adds, “It’s a lot of pressure. We were dating and taking it day by day. We never put a label on us saying, ‘We are boyfriend-girlfriend.’ But when a budding romance is happening like that and you don’t have a lot of time to see each other, you’re being pulled in so many directions.”

She also says there were no third parties involved.

“Absolutely not,” says Lake. “I’ve never thought that he was seeing other people or anything like that.”

Lake, who recently moved to L.A. from her native Chicago to pursue her career, also made it clear that she completely backs Michaels’s decision to take the show on the road for a third installment. This time it’s called Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels and the women vying for his affection will follow the rocker on a month-long tour across the country.

“Third time’s the charm!” says Lake, who plans to watch the new season and is happy to be a sounding board for Michaels. “I can’t stress enough that I support his decision. He’s going to take it on the road, and that’s where he spends the majority of his life. What a great concept.”

How will she cope with the heartbreak in the meantime? “I’ve been surrounding myself with close friends and I’m visiting my family next week,” says Lake. “And working out is very therapeutic for me.”

It also helps that she and Michaels will remain great friends. “Our relationship isn’t over — we’re going to be friends forever,” she says. “We’re still going to talk, we’re still going to support each other. I’m going to his concert in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I’ll hug him like I always do. And then we’ll laugh and hang with Big John.” – Anne Marie Cruz

That is sad, I really hoped that they would make it. Ambre was a real girl and that is what Bret deserves. Good look with the next show, I will be watching.

And I knew this would happen…it’s all an act so he can continue to be “famous” again on Vh1. Which by the way, is a channel for the has beens of the entertainment industry.

I will watch it again though, because the hookers on that show are amusing!

Oh, and how come her name is spelled like that? I can’t stand it! I have to pronounce it Am-bray!

No more please! I am officially boycotting all MTV, Vh1 & E! reality shows. I’ve lost enough IQ points watching all this trash.

Wow how convient to break up in time for season 3. What a publicity stunt…how sad to see Brett do this when his music draws enough fans….

JB July 16th, 2008

Is it just me or is Bret becoming a bit of a prostitute? Isn’t he selling himself for ratings? How sad, too, that there will be a third installment of this show. Well, at least it will give TV time to some of the most horrible women in America.

I’m a 52 year old women and I absolutely fell in love with him. What a nice guy he seems to be. Yes, I have a mom crush. I love it when he says he’s so mad and he keeps it all together. I do agree, if you’re not an exotic dancer, he’s usually not interested.

This is SO SAD. I pulled for Ambre from day one and I really thought she would be the one. Thankfully they part as friends

I hoped it could possibly be real, but honestly I knew a third season would wind up happening! I mean, come on, the money he is making! I just can’t believe he can really make out with some of those skanks! ACK!

I am sad that they split, but I kinda saw it coming. You just can not find love on a reality show. I think that Bret Michael’s needs to invest in e-harmony and not go for another round of finding his Rock of Love. Hasn’t he learned his lesson yet. You would think that he would wise up and realize that the third show is just going to end up the same way.

is anyone shocked that they spilt? how can you find love when youre competing with other girls, all of which hes making out with in front of you. true love.. ha
