Simon Cowell Named Favorite Reality-TV Villain

July 24, 2008

He may not sport the Joker’s evil Glasgow smile, or Darth Vader’s menacing voice, but Simon Cowell’s acid tongue is enough to scare the pants off of millions of American TV viewers.

The American Idol judge has been voted America’s favorite reality-TV villain, Reuters reports.

Cowell, 48, won 39 percent of the vote for favorite villain among over 1.3 million voters who took part in the AOL Television poll, it was announced Thursday. Idol was voted best reality show, with 33 percent of the vote, but co-judge Paula Abdul took home another dubious award: worst reality-TV judge.

The FOX music competition also won in the “hottest hook-up” category, for 2008 winner David Cook and second-season alum Kimberly Caldwell, who are dating.

Only 14 percent said they’d want to take part in Idol, however. The Amazing Race took that category, with 32 percent of votes.

Losers in the poll included The Bachelor, which won the “SO over” category, and Flavor Flav. Flavor of Love “won” for the season’s worst reality program, the show that voters didn’t want to go on and scariest star. –Michael Y. Park

Congrats to Simon Cowell being named Favorite Reality-TV Villian! Also, congrats to Paula Abdul for being the worst reality show judge! Also, congrats to The Bachelor, who won “So-over” category, and Flavor Flav, which “won” for the season’s worst reality program, the show that voters didn’t want to go on and scariest star, etc.

FIRST!

He’s probably one of the sexiest ‘mean’ people I know of on t.v. His sarcasm is typical Simon and so Simon, I say…congrats. too, in a good way. You don’t get to where you are in the music industry by being nice. You know musical talent when you hear it and how to package a person’s talent.

I want to congratulate Ben Yung for thinking he was first but proving to the world that not only can”t he count but his mommy must be so proud of his accomplishments.
Simon Cowell is the best. He judges, he does not play games like Randy does by saying over and over - It’s pitchy, dawg. Simon explains. Paula is needed because a ditz makes people happy to have something to talk about the next day.

David Cook & Kimberly Caldwell “hottest hook-up?” I find that baffling.

Where did Spencer Pratt from The Hills come in?

No surprise Simon won for that category. He may be mean but he knows true talent when he sees it. He knew it would be David Cook all along and he got what he wanted. I too find it a little odd that David and Kim are the “hottest hook-up”. I love David but I just don’t think he and Kim make that great of a couple. I don’t have anything against Kim. As I’ve said before David can date whomever he wants. I think ever since Paula judged two songs when only one had been sung she became the worst reality TV judge.

Ya’ll Need to stop talking negative about Paula becuase She’s NOT the worst judge. In opinon, she is the BEST judge because she actually tries to critise them but also give them dignity when they walk off the stage. And if ya’ll think a good judge is someone who crushes people’s dreams then ya’ll are crazy. BUT if you wanna see someone who i think is the worst go and see this clip…
