TV Roundup: OMFG, Secret Life of the American Teenager Outdoes Gossip Girl

• OMG! The last episode of ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager scored higher ratings than the season finale of Gossip Girl. And it didn’t use racy ads to get viewers to tune in…OMFG!

• Lost producers promise fans: You will see dead people on the island. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse gave a sneak peek of the show at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con International. Among the highlights: the return of Walt’s dog Vincent and appearances by Jin and Locke in various forms. Hopefully, not reincarnated as Vincent.

• Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is putting together a live how-to show called Cookalong Live that will challenge viewers to prepare a three-course meal in under an hour. Whoever can make it to the dessert course without crying wins!

• When The Hoff talks, people listen. The America’s Got Talent judge says he’s in negotiations to be on the panel of the the soon-to-be revived game show What’s My Line?

I guess the “Secret Life Of An American Teenager” proves that perhaps The CW was a little bit too hasty in cancelling “7th Heaven”. It may have been cheesy, but it was a wholesome family show that instilled a lot of values that teens could relate too. It was like the anti-”OC” of it’s time and it looks like “Secret Life” is the Anti-”Gossip Girl” of today. I happen to watch both of these shows but for far different reasons. I’m really glad that “Secret Life” is doing so well and for all of those who hate “Gossip Girl” for being to edgy and salacious, I strongly urge you to give “Secret Life” a try. It might actually surprise you.

I LOVE Gossip Girl and Secret Life. It is so nice to see ABC Family dealing with an issue like teen pregnancy in a realistic way. You really feel for Amy.

Please tell me that I am not the only one that misses actual blouses/shirts/tops on the young ladies [and I guess I say that loosely based on that dreadful picture accompanying this so-called story] that pass for actresses’ wardrobes today.
Perhaps she reeks of poor posture…I suppose the good thing is it was only the last half of her upper body that we are exposed to. Then again, perhaps I am silently jealous…but I doubt it.
