Jodie Sweetin in Talks to Star in a Reality-TV Show

August 1, 2008

Former Full House star Jodie Sweetin, who gave birth to a baby girl earlier this year, has another production in the works: a reality-TV show.

“We’re going to start shooting in a couple months,” Sweetin, 26, told PEOPLE Thursday at the Maxim Extreme Sports Party in Los Angeles. “We are in talks with a couple of networks right now. We have one picked out, but nothing is signed yet.”

What made her and husband Cody Herpin decide to make the jump into the world of reality TV? “We actually got approached about doing it by multiple people,” she says. “It was one of those things where we were like, ‘Wow. Let’s totally do it.’ I think it’s sort of a fun way to show the other side of celebrity and a sort of semi-normal life.”

And the pair isn’t put off by the bad relationship track record other reality-TV couples (Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro) have faced. In fact, Sweetin says she and Herpin are “hoping to break the reality show curse.”

As for the name of the show, Sweetin’s lips are sealed–for now. She says, “Before you sign contracts, you can’t say anything.” –Vanessa Diaz

Way to go Jodie Sweetin! Glad to see you come’n back to the reality of life after your drug stint. Hang in there and the best of luck in your new life! Oh, and one more thing…HOW RUUUUUUUDE!

Kary August 1st, 2008

Sweetin is no longer a celebrity. This is her attempt at trying to get back into showbiz. Pathetic if you ask me.

Lis August 1st, 2008

yeah…sounds like she’s just desperate for attention. and i just don’t get why people (especially married couples) would want their lives on tv. when you make your private life public – that’s when s— hits the fan…look at hulk hogan – they were a perfectly happy family for around twenty years…then they did a reality show……

Yeah, this is sad. I hope it doesn’t ruin her marriage and make her life more difficult. Reality tv shows, as salacious as they may be to watch, are just bad news for celebrity’s personal lives!

Karey, This is for you. I think you’re the pathetic one. At least Jodie is trying to make a living and support her baby. Keep your fu****g comments to yourself. Did it ever occur to you that she doesn’t want to be a celebrity, just make a living. You’re such an idiot.

Jodie, You were so cute when your were smaller. You lost that innocent look now. But still pretty.
I hope your new show makes it!

Tasha August 1st, 2008

Hmmm…. “Semi-normal” life does not involve camera crews. Please, don’t ruin my fond memories of Full House!
