Ben Lyons to Host New Nickelodeon Game Show

E! News personality Ben Lyons will be busy come fall.

The young film critic and news anchor has a new gig lined up: He will host Nickelodeon’s My Family’s Got GUTS, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Lyons is also set to take over hosting duties for At the Movies, the popular review show hosted until recently by Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper, with Ben Mankiewicz.

Lyons, 26, the son of NBC film critic Jeffrey Lyons, will begin production on the Nickelodeon show this month.

If My Family’s Got GUTS sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The extreme sports competition is a new, revised version of Nickelodeon’s classic GUTS, a game show that premiered in the ’90s. The network has greenlit 20 half-hour episodes and two hourlong specials.

Lyons can currently be seen on E! News, The Daily 10 and E! Online. –Brian Orloff

What did they do?? You can’t “revise” GUTS! Either bring back the original show concept or don’t try to bring the show back at all. I loved watching GUTS when I was a kid but this is just wrong.
