Gossip Girl vs. 90210: Let the Fashion Face-off Begin

The CW may have a new bicoastal battle on their hands.

The cover of the September issue of fashion mag Nylon, featuring 90210’s Shenae Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup, got us wondering: Could the 90210 newbies outdo their East Coast counterparts, Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen, in the fashion arena?

Pitting California cool kids against edgy East coast prep-schoolers in a fashion face-off may not be the CW’s intention, but as the debut of 90210 approaches — and its stars pop up on magazine covers and red carpets — we’ll be watching to see if they can keep up with the stylish Gossip Girl stars.

Maybe 90210 will be less crazy about their fashion but will have more stuff that is wearable and not so busy like in Gossip Girl. Can’t wait for 90210!

Why does there need to be rivalry? I love both shows - keep both of them on! There is no need for competition - both shows will be awesome!

I am not sure if 90210 will be more fashion-forward than Gossip Girl? I believe each cast, 90210, and Gossip Girl, will have their own styles! But, the pics above of three of the 90210 girls and the pics below of two of the GG girls were all good pics! Also, Sabrina Bryan’s Top 5 Fit Tips video was good, thanks for the tips, Sabrina, etc.

There is no way lam-o californian style could outdo GG. GG is on the cutting edge of fashion trends. It has its finger firmly on the pulse of all things fashion forward. Besides- the GG characters are twenty times richer than their “west coast counterpart” characters of 90210. GG are buying much more expensive clothing than 90210 characters could afford.

I am sure that they are both going to be fashionable.. all young adult/teen dramas characters usually dress very well. But I have a feeling that GG will be better than 90210 though. Go GG!

There is no way 90210 can be more stylish than Gossip Girl. In case you haven’r notice everyone on Gossip Girl has their own style that viewers can recongize and knows that it is theirs. I doubt 90210 will be able to do the same thing. Gossip Girl all the way!!!!

West Coast style is sooo tacky…GG wins this. New York is very cosmopolitan unlike LA whose style aesthetic gravitates towards imitating star style…
Even poor girls like jenny Humphrey wear Marc Jacobs…The best the 90210 girls could afford are probably Heidiwood..
