Lauren “Lo” Bosworth is setting the record straight: She’s not to blame for the tension between Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge.
“The problems with Lauren and Audrina started even before we decided to move in [together],” the Hills star said during an interview Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show.
“Audrina was starting to do her own thing, and I think that’s what led them apart in the beginning,” she said, explaining that the drama that plays out on the show doesn’t always reflect what’s going on in real life.
When all three became roommates, “she started to feel left out,” Lo says, and “in a small way, Audrina was using me as the excuse for why her and Lauren weren’t friends.
“But everybody who knows us knows that’s not true,” she continues. “Since we moved in, the relationship has changed … For whatever reason, me coming into the equation was a problem for [Audrina].”
And while Bosworth doesn’t deny that she and Patridge aren’t best friends — “We don’t click,” she says — she does think “Audrina is a lovely girl.”
As for the way she’s portrayed on the show, Bosworth believes Audrina “comes across as the victim and everybody feels sorry for her.”
But that’s not the case, Bosworth explains. “She has an amazing group of friends,” she tells Seacrest. “She has a completely different social scene and I think viewers don’t understand that we have lives besides the Hills.” – Brian Orloff
