Audrina Patridge has already called rumors that Lauren Conrad is hooking up with her ex Justin Bobby “hurtful.” One reason for her pain? The Hills star says Conrad has never spoken to her directly about the situation.
“After I found these rumors out she chose to talk to me through the tabloids and not come directly to me or call me as a true friend,” Patridge says during a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Show scheduled to air on Wednesday. “We’re just trying to figure this out.”
“Neither of them have really talked to me or made an effort,” she says. “So, I really don’t know what to believe. I don’t want to believe it.”
“I called [Conrad] and she hung up on me,” Patridge says in the interview. “That was my way of making an effort and asking her. I never accused anymore. I just straight out asked them if they did it or not.”
Even Justin Bobby has kept mum, Patridge maintains.
“Four days later he kind of avoided the whole question and turned it back on me like typical guy,” she tells the talk show host.
But Conrad has maintained that the rumors are completely false. She wrote a post on her blog, directly blasting talk of a romantic entanglement. “I did not and would never hook up with Justin,” she wrote, addressing Patridge directly. “You KNOW I didn’t do this and I have never given you a reason not to trust me. What you are doing is hurtful and I don’t want to fight with you.” –Brian Orloff
