POLL: Is Kenley’s Dress Too Similar to Alexander McQueen’s?

Did Kenley’s wedding dress look familiar? On Wednesday night’s Project Runway, the judges seemed to think so. After sending her feathered concoction down the runway, judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia zeroed in on the similarity, comparing it to a recent Alexander McQueen gown. Kenely said she didn’t know what they were talking about, and the judges finally capitulated a bit, deciding that no matter the similarity, they loved the dress. Kenley, along with Leanne and Korto, made it to the Runway finale and will show her collection at Fashion Week, while Jerell was auf’d for his unique — if garish — gown. – Brian Orloff

I love this dress! I think it’s better then Alexander McQueen’s. I didn’t really like some of Kenley’s recent designs, but when I saw her collection I thought it was very well put together! She even painted some of the designs! Go Kenley!!!

different style halter it the extra fabric on the one to the left makes it differnt idk how 60% say it is a rip-off.. the project run way one is more of a crimpled look as well

I agree! It is beautiful. I like Kenley a lot. Her voice is irritating and yea she might come off a bit rude but don’t we all at times! I also really like Leeann. Not a Korto fan at all. Will see what happens next week!

I think when she says she had no idea what they were talking about, she actually means it, which is the most unfortunate part. Every week Kenley repeatedly shows her complete ignorance of fashion and people. She’s skimmed by on a talent to create interesting designs but I truly believe she doesn’t know WHAT other designers are doing at any given time so her rip-off of McQueen was likely accidental but completely ignorant. And Her disrespect for people and the fashion industry in general should have cut her out of the competition a long time ago.

i don’t know what you’re saying about her taking the third spot - clearly her and leanne were the top two designers and korto claimed the third spot. i’m not a huge fan of kenley’s attitude, but she definitely deserved to be there based on last night’s show.

Down to the hat. This dress is Alexander McQueen but with a ‘Kenley’ spin. It is cuter than his, but I believe she took his design. And I love Jerell, but his collection scared me.

I’m curious as to when McQueen’s gown went down the runway as opposed to when Kenley created her gown. I don’t believe this is all in real time. Then again, I don’t keep up on the whole fashion week stuff. They only have a short time to create their line for the finale. If McQueen’s gown came out within a the last 2 months…I’d have to think it was a coincidence.

The wedding dress looks similar to Alexander McQueen’s but Kenley’s wedding dress & the bridesmaid’s dress are really beautiful! She has an attitude but we are not judging her by that but her talent.

I am not a Kenley fan based on her personality. No one can take away the fact that she is a talented designer. But when you see someone being so rude and throwing her little tantrums like a 2 year old because the judges said something she didn’t like it’s hard to root for them to win. I don’t care what kind of upbringing or childhood she had. There is still a time when you put that stuff aside and treat people with a little respect and not like a spoiled brat. If I had to pick one of the 3 remaining I would probably hope that Leanne wins.
