Tuesday’s Dancing: What You Didn’t See

October 15, 2008

Back to Trash Talking: Cloris Leachman staved off elimination for yet another week. But the 82-year-old Academy award-winning actress professed to never panicking about a possible ouster. “I wasn’t worried,” Leachman said with a relaxed cackle. “Maybe I’ll faint, but I wasn’t concerned. One part is your brain and the other is just your body, and as you might have seen from some of my dances, mine aren’t connected.” In fact, Leachman offered this warning to the producers: “They joked about me costing the show money (referring to the spoof Dancing campaign ads that ran during last night’s show), and I will cost this show money if they throw me off. I’ll come back and trash the set if they send me home.”

Devil in a Blue Ballroom Dress? Now that Rocco DiSpirito is off Dancing, he has to pay up. The chef admitted to selling his soul to the Ukrainian devil, namely his dance partner Karina Smirnoff. “There are a lot of things that she has to collect on now that we’re off the show,” DiSpirito later admitted. “I may have been under the influence when I made these promises, but what I remember is, I promised her a house in the South of France, two pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes and a bunch of other things, all of which I offered to her as a bribe to make the choreography easier for me.” DiSpirito reasons: “It seemed like a good idea at the time. We were negotiating easier steps and choreography, and I would be like, ‘How many pairs of shoes would it take for you to make this easier for me?’ But, to be fair to myself, I did later qualify the house in France as a rental.”

More from Inside the Ballroom:
• Tuesday’s performance by a troupe of shirtless Barcelona flamenco dancers had its share of Dancing fans. From her perch on the balcony, host Samantha Harris let out some appreciative yells, as she bobbed her head in time with the music. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba let out her fair share of appreciative catcalls, raising her arms in the air when the dancers ripped off their jackets.

• The stodgy, but ever game Len Goodman was able to chuckle at himself when a male fan stood up and professed to have a “man crush’ on the sharp-tongued British judge during a commercial break. Always a good sport, Goodman gave his gushing fan a wave and a thumbs-up sign before signing a DWTS T-shirt for the audience member.

• During Warren Sapp’s spoof campaign ad video, which made the claim that the self-professed “fat boy” was in fact, wearing a fat suit, Sapp doubled over with laughter. –Reagan Alexander

Even though he can’t dance to save his life, I still love him. He is soooo handsome and I was sad to see him go before the old blabber mouth.

It is too bad Rocco left before Cloris. She needs to go!! Hope she is gone next week, then Susan, Warren,Toni, Lance. I want to see Cody, Brooke and Warren in the finals!!!

Jordie's Mom October 15th, 2008

Cloris is so undignified. I am embarrassed for her every week. First she was vulgar with the language, then she was just plain stupid. I am disgusted that so many people found her charming.

Since when is being tacking charming?

Betty October 15th, 2008

I wanted Rocco to stay, he was hamdsome, but he couldn’t move that groove thing! As for Cloris, what are you people thinking - she taking away from the show. Or is that all it’s about ratings, and she can get them?? Also, I would like to if the Barcelona Dancers to Bachelorette Parties and Showers. They were really good. I love to move my groove thing with one of them. I love your show, but get rid of Cloris she takes allot away from the upstanding rivials of the great dancers that are left. Like Brooke and Derrik who have worked so hard and it shows!

Jon October 15th, 2008

Interesting DWTS news, etc.

Starr October 15th, 2008

Cloris needs to go. It is not fair the others work so hard every week to get better while she acts as a clown and an attention hound. Give her the boot !

stacey October 15th, 2008

I agree! I am embarrassed for Cloris evertime she opens her mouth!!! She should have been gone the first week!! Poor Rocco & Ted, they were much better dancers than Cloris. Who is voting for Cloris anyway?

Destiny October 15th, 2008

I want to see Lance, Warren & Brooke are in the finals, I want Cody, Cloris and Maurice eliminated.

TB October 15th, 2008

Jon….Dude, seriously!!!! Are you OK? If you need to comment on other People news, e-mail them!

Back to DTWS, Cloris, time to take a dignified bow!

Bob October 15th, 2008

After the first night, Cloris’ antics distract from the show. I know it isn’t serious competition, but, enough is enough. Leachman should have disappeared after her rendition of the Jive. Her Tango was more than acceptable, but I would not have scored her as high as did the judges. However, I hope she has been an inspiration to all the senior citizens of the world.
