I am so upset about some of the comments written here. I have had endo since I was a teen and was misdiagnosed until my last month of college. I was told I would not be able to graduate but I did. The pain can be horrible yet some have no pain at all. I took many drugs and can't tell you how many laps I have had to temporarily control this disease. It can also be a killer I was lucky and knew I was sick; my sister did not know she had endo and it became endometriod type ovarian cancer killing her just months after her wedding at the age of 31. It was horrible watching her die. I urge all of you to have the CA125 blood test yearly. It is a test for ovarian cancer but if you have endo the numbers will also be high. Some doctors use this test to decide whether or not you need another lap. You may also like to join the endometriosis assoc. They have a great support system and can provide you with great infor. I have been a member for more than 20 years. It would be great if this young dancer would be a spokeswoman for this disease which many women have and are often not diagnosed for at least 7 years.

Umm, I'm OVER Julianne, how many people suffer endometriosis on a daily basis but don't get an article in People magazine about it!!! And I'm so SICK of freakin' BLONDE country musice wannabes...Kelly Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift...they are setting stereotype that you have to be blonde and gorgeous to sing country music...PLUS...save your "dream" for someone else, Julianne, you're lucky enough to be as talented at dancing as you are so now you're going to be greedy and say "ok, so i've made a lot of money dancing, now I'll try singing" and then....lemme guess...ACTING?!?!?! What a freakin' lame surprise...I'm OVER you, you suck

While I wish this dancer all the best as, yes, this is a horrible disease...
What worries me most is the number of women with endo posting here with the wrong info. Please do more research into the disease that each of you have. There are a lot of myths that have been shared in these posts that are part of the reason why there is not a clear understanding of this disease in today's society. Some of these myths include:
Taking one's ovaries will cure endometriosis - this may sometimes be true...but does not help everyone. Endometriosis has a mind of its own and is being proven to be able to spread with or without the help of ovaries.
Endometriosis is limited to a women's reproductive organs - not true. It can be found many places in the body including diaphragm, eyes, skin, lungs, brain.
So, people, if we want to get society to understand just how brutal this disease can be, let's try to be accurate when spreading the news about it - especially all of us who actually have this disease.

Hey Kel, you're dumb and obviously not a doctor! Endometriosis can damage the appendix, intestines, ovaries, cervix, etc. Women have had sections of their intestines removed and even complete hysterectomies due to Endometriosis. I would know, I have Endo! Look it up & learn something!
