They’re always in search of the hottest parties, so it came as no surprise that the girls and Hef spent this week’s episode of The Girls Next Door living it up at the Kentucky Derby.
But before hoofing it cross-country, Kendra, Bridget and Holly got prepped by picking out their Derby outfits.
“When you think about the Kentucky Derby, it’s all about the hats,” Bridget said. “So Kendra and I decided to go hat shopping.”
After trying to find a hat to match the her slinky, salmon dress she pulled out of her purse, Kendra ended up having one custom-made (“My head is gigantic!” she lamented), while Holly was later seen wearing a yellow and pink number.
Back at the mansion, Holly was busy whipping up “the awesome-est hat.” She adorned it with My Little Pony dolls and ribbons, and proclaimed it, “The hat of my dreams!”
The gang piled onto a jet and in no time were getting prepped for the Barnstable Brown Celebrity Gala at the Galthouse hotel — which they shamelessly plugged. (“I’ve even heard the Galthouse is the premiere hotel of the Kentucky Derby,” Holly asserted.)
Everyone seemed to have a blast at the party, rubbing elbows with everyone from Nick Lachey to Edward Norton. Apparently, they were so busy hobnobbing that no one had time to go to the bathroom.
“After the gala, we all had to pee,” Kendra said. “I had to pee like a racehorse!”
Bridget asked their limo driver if they could stop at, “like a KFC or a Taco Bell” before they finally were allowed to use the bathroom at a local pizza joint.
Question: Did Holly come out of the men’s room?
The next morning, the gang got ready for the race in their Derby dresses and fancy hats and headed to the track.
After indulging in $1000 mint juleps and placing their bets, they excitedly checked out the race — and the cute football players (Tom Brady, anyone?) who were sitting next to them.
In the end, Bridget and Hef came away winners.
“I got lucky in Kentucky but not at the race!” Holly said. “[But] to have that experience with friends was really special.” – Lesly Messer
