Last week’s trip to the Kentucky Derby was a bit of a detour, but this week’s episode of the Girls Next Door brought us right back to Holly’s hunt for Playboy’s 55th Playmate.
“Im really nervous,” she said as the show opened. “What if Hef doesn’t like the girls?”
Well, he did, and in no time, he and Holly were playing the part of Tyra Banks in a naked version of America’s Next Top Model.
Let’s meet the contestants: First, there’s 24-year-old Crystal from Chicago. “We spotted her at Hooters and thought she was hot,” Holly reminded viewers. Next up: Dasha, 22, from Ukraine, who had appeared in Playboy’s international editions. Karissa and Kristina, the 19-year-old twins from Clearwater were next.
Quick question: Were their matching outfits really necessary?!
“They didn’t really introduce themselves,” Holly complained upon their arrival. “No hug, no handshake.” Jessica, 25, made a ho-hum entrance and Holly explained that she found the OC native on MySpace. Hope, 23, said she lives in New York now (even though Holly found her in Dallas) and apparently has the best shoe collection ever.
The ladies spent time bonding with each other while Holly shimmied around in a white button down shirt with a sparkly bra sticking out. Maybe she felt threatened?
Right away, the twins established themselves as competition. “It’s like being double-teamed!” Jessica lamented. “That’s not fair.” Even the twins knew they were intimidating. “There’s two of us and only one of them,” they said before it was time for Kristina and Karissa — and the rest of the ladies –
did their test shots.
Crystal, who did a shoot reminiscent of the mother’s, was one of the first to go. Kendra cheekily asked Hef if he remembered sleeping with her mother, and he nodded. “Great butt,” he said. He had another one-liner for Jessica’s Tarzan-esque shoot: “I heard you were a swinger but I didn’t understand.”
The cringeworthy comments continued as the gals celebrated their shoots with a dinner at Ketchup. Talk soon turned to sex, and everyone revealed at what age they lost their virginity. Hef maintained he waited until he was 21 or 22, and was in college, and Holly remarked, “He’s made up for lost time.”
After poring over photos, Hef selected the three finalists who are still in the running to be America’s next top — er, Playmate. – Lesley Messer
