This week’s episode on 90210 finally tied up some loose ends. But not without a lot of drama, of course!
Mr. Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold) returned to the halls of West Bev after taking a leave of absence for cavorting with a student, who was really a 25-year-old narc. Everything was straightened out and he got his old job back as the coolest English teacher. But while spending his time in South Dakota, he realized he was a burned-out, 23-year-old teacher interested in only cashing a paycheck. He’s not even interested in Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) anymore. Did anyone notice sparks between him and the new drama teacher? Is there anyone who is not hot for this guy?
The show’s first relationship casualty came on Tuesday’s episode. Technically, Naomi (Annalynne McCord) and Ethan were the first, but they broke up on the first day of school This time, it was Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Dixon (Tristan Wilds) parting ways. He kept calling her intense, and poor Silver, who can never shut up for a second, was finally left speechless.
Meanwhile, the school was buzzing over auditions for the school’s upcoming production of the play Antony & Cleopatra. Annie (Shenae Grimes) badly wanted the part of Cleopatra. She encouraged her beau Ethan (Dustin Milligan) to try out so they could spend time together. It was a smart move too, since too-perfect Ty (Adam Gregory) reappeared, ready to be her Antony. But the lead role went to Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes), a former child sitcom star. Those two have some interesting rehearsals ahead of them. The real drama will begin between Ty and Adrianna when she tells him that he’s the father of her baby.
While real problems were being dealt with — such as finding the zip codes best OB-GYN — Annie was whining about losing the part of Cleopatra to a girl who kind of looks like her. Annie got the usual pep talk from her parents, and decided she would give her best performance when she acted like she was fine with receiving a smaller part in the play. Annie called Ethan (who was driving! It’s hands-free in California, people.) to tell him her about her positive attitude when he drove through a stop sign and Annie heard nothing but screeching tires. – Elaine Aradillas
Tell us: How serious is Ethan’s accident? Should Silver and Dixon try to work things out? And will Mr. Matthews have another fling?
