Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is hard at work at her new gig on the CW’s upcoming remake of Melrose Place, which she’s been filming since April. And here’s the proof! The CW just posted new promos (with no less than Britney Spears’s “Circus” as a soundtrack!) for the show, which premieres Sept. 8 (9 p.m. ET), on YouTube, and the one with the tagline, “No apartment building has ever been so complex,” stars the new mom herself as Violet Foster, a small-town girl trying her luck in L.A., who has a “disarming naiveté [that] masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within,” according to reports.
