Things are heating up this winter for Rumer Willis on 90210. Her character, Gia, is going to get a girlfriend in January.

“This isn’t a fling,” 90210’s executive producer Rebecca Sinclair tells Entertainment Weekly. “We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.’ This is a real aspect of teenager life that’s interesting … And there’s been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters.”

So who will Gia fall for? Teen mom Adrianna, played by Jessica Lowndes.

“I’ve never kissed a girl before so it’s a little nerve-racking,” Lowndes says in the mag.

Why hire an actress to play the coolest deejay in town when you can get the real thing? The producers of 90210 have confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE that Samantha Ronson, the celebrity deejay and on-and-off again girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan, has filmed an episode of the CW show.

Ronson’s scenes take place in a club where hip-hop star Pharrell and his group N.E.R.D. also perform. Her role also has her advising the character, Navid, played by Michael Steger, on matters of the heart.

There is no word yet on whether or not Ronson will be return to the famous zip code for another stint. Her episode will air the CW on Nov. 3.

The halls of West Beverly High may be a danger zone of cliques and catfights, but off-screen the cast is welcoming newbies with open arms — good news for upcoming guest star Rumer Willis.

“Rumer Willis is joining us for a little while. I’m not sure for how long, but we are very excited,” Shenae Grimes, told PEOPLE at the One Year Anniversary Party for 3.1 Phillip Lim Los Angeles Store.

It looks like Grimes’s character, the sweet girl-next-door Annie Wilson may be the one in search of new friends in the upcoming season.

“That’s kind of a big twist this year. I’ll start out on a different foot then I did last year. I’m not part of the gang for a little while and you’ll see why,” said Grimes.

Electro-pop duo The Veronicas will make a cameo on the prom episode of 90210, airing May 12 (9 p.m. ET) on CW. Performing their hit “Untouched” and “Take Me On the Floor” the first two singles off their sophomore record Hook Me Up, twins Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, both 24, shot the episode on the Queen Mary boat in Long Beach, Calif.

“We had a great time,” says Jessica. Though they describe everyone on set as being, “so wonderful to us,” they did leave having found a favorite cast member. “Shenae Grimes. She hung out with us a bit and was so nice and she’s a fan of ours.”

Avid watchers of the first round of 90210, the twins were a bit bummed when they didn’t get to meet any of the returning cast members. “We were only on set for about 3 hours,” says Jessica. “I wish we’d had the chance to meet Shannen Doherty. I love her!”

Next up for the girls? Continuing to hang with close pal Joe Jonas. “We opened up for the Jonas Brothers on their last tour and we just really connected the Joe, but we’re all just friends.” They’re also continuing their first U.S. headlining tour, which runs through July. – Jessica Herndon

With V-Day just days away, it was no surprise the hormonally-charged teens at West Bev were preoccupied with love, lust and a mega-dose of jealously on last night’s 90210.

Just when you thought cute couple Annie and Ethan were so into each other, the two devolved into one of those mismatched couples that always fight. Blame it on Rhonda and Ethan’s growing friendship with the girl whom he accidentally hit in a car accident. Things only get worse when Ethan walked in on Annie during drama class and saw her retelling a story that was originally told in confidence by Rhonda. Like a scene out of a soap opera, this act of betrayal drove an angry Ethan right into Rhonda arms. The two pals got chummy, laughing and dancing at the V-Day Dance. When it came time to say goodbye Rhonda went in for the kiss, but got shot down by Ethan.

In anticipation of the most romantic day of the year, 90210 stars Dustin Milligan, Michael Steeger, Jessica Lowndes and Jessica Stroup are offering up their advice for Valentine’s Day. From planning the date, to gift (and compliment) giving, the cast is well versed in matters of the heart. Or so it seems.

The Valentine’s Day episode of 90210, which airs on the CW on Tuesday (Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. ET), promises to be like a box of chocolates (sweet with a few surprises) when the whole gang attend a dance at West Beverly High. After parting ways, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Silver (Stroup) get back into the spirit of the holiday, sharing a romantic dinner together and then deciding to take their V-Day even further. While Ethan (Dustin) and Annie (Shenae Grimes) are still feeling a strain on their relationship, Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) may be starting a new one after falling in love at first sight when she meets Liam (Matt Lanter, a new series regular), the mysterious bartender at the hotel where she’s living.

Brenda is back! Again.

Shannen Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh on the original Beverly Hills: 90210, signed on to return for another episode of the CW’s 90210, according to a source close to the show.

After appearing in six episodes of the spin-off, no details about her upcoming storyline have been announced.

When we last saw her, Brenda was renewing her friendship with Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) after revealing Brenda’s sour attitude stemmed from the fact she can’t have children.

Tori Spelling, another 90210 alum, recently returned to her old zip code as the beloved Donna Martin. She is signed on to appear in three upcoming episodes.

No word on whether Donna and Brenda will have any scenes together. – Elaine Aradillas

She’s back! As promised, Tori Spelling is reprising her role as Donna Martin in an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210. Spelling and pal Jennie Garth, who plays Kelly Taylor, filmed scenes Monday in Los Angeles.

This week’s episode on 90210 finally tied up some loose ends. But not without a lot of drama, of course!

Mr. Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold) returned to the halls of West Bev after taking a leave of absence for cavorting with a student, who was really a 25-year-old narc. Everything was straightened out and he got his old job back as the coolest English teacher. But while spending his time in South Dakota, he realized he was a burned-out, 23-year-old teacher interested in only cashing a paycheck. He’s not even interested in Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) anymore. Did anyone notice sparks between him and the new drama teacher? Is there anyone who is not hot for this guy? (more…)
