A Shot at Love

Bisexual Twins to Star in A Double Shot at Love

November 21, 2008

Tila Tequila won’t be looking for love on another season of her MTV reality show, but there’s a fierce twosome who are willing to give it a shot.

In a new installment of A Shot at Love, debuting Dec. 9 on MTV, a daring duo will replace Tila: bisexual twin sisters Rikki and Vikki, a.k.a. the “Ikki Twins,” models who’ve been posed for billboards, calendars, print ads and car magazines.

The identical twins will have their pick from twelve straight men and twelve lesbians, who will live under one roof and compete in challenges to win the hearts of their sexy hosts.

Tila may not be on the new season of the show — now titled A Double Shot at Love — but she’s keeping busy.

She’s currently on a book tour for her new bestseller Hooking Up With Tila Tequila and recently premiered three — yes, three — music videos on her MySpace blog.

Tila Tequila Steps Out with a New Gal Pal

August 11, 2008

Take that Kristy!

A brokenhearted and humiliated Tila Tequila may have been dumped by Kristy Morgan on national television last month, but Tequila looks to have another shot at love.

The MTV reality star stepped out with new gal pal Courtenay Semel, a socialite and former Lindsay Lohan friend, at Thursday’s EA Sports/Xbox 360 premiere of Madden NFL “09 in Los Angeles. A beaming Tequila told PEOPLE she “didn’t want to jinx anything” about their relationship, but said she was very happy.

Semel, however, happily shared her feelings for the MTV reality star. “I’d seen the show [A Shot at Love] and just needed to meet her…and it just happened,” Semel says of Tequila. Now the “best friends” are content to lay in bed watching movies, share clothes and makeup and steer clear of drama.

“There are no games,” says Tequila. “It’s true what they say about lesbians–you meet and then the next day you move in together, because I can’t get rid of her. She pretty much lives at my house.” – Michelle Ward

Tila Tequila Calls Kristy Fake, Walks Off Set

July 9, 2008

Tila Tequila, hoping for answers and closure after getting dumped on her own show, reunited with her A Shot at Love 2 finalists, Kristy Morgan and Bo Kunkle, on Tuesday’s One Shot Too Many special. As host Ryan Stout put it, it was a season of “broken jaws, broken promises, and broken hearts,” and the reunion continued the trend with Tila calling Kristy “fake” and Bo leaving disappointed once again.

As it turns out, Bo’s problems didn’t end when Tila dumped him. The assistant coach for an high school football team told the audience that the school board fired him after he appeared on the show. “That was just as hard as getting my heart broken by Tila,” he said. And as for getting his heart broken, “That was like a head butt in the face.”

Surprisingly, Bo supported Kristy’s decision not to accept Tila’s key. But as he told Tila, “To find out you got your heart broken just like me, it made me feel all the more worse.”

Kristy’s appearance brought the real drama. To explain why she rejected Tila after leading her on all season, Kristy said she was overwhelmed with insecurity after seeing Tila connect to Bo and other contestants. “Am I going to be that perfect person she has in mind?” she asked. “I don’t want to be another phony reality couple that’s going to break up in three months.” (more…)

A Shot at Love 2’s Kristy: Dumping Tila Was ‘Right Thing’ to Do

July 2, 2008

Kristy Morgan doesn’t regret her decision to dump Tila Tequila on national TV. In fact, she was really enjoying herself at the viewing party for the A Shot at Love 2 finale Tuesday at New York City’s Hawaiian Tropic Zone, where fans and contestants watched as Kristy won the reality dating show but decided she wouldn’t pursue a relationship with Tila.

At the party, the former Playboy model took a break from signing autographs and posing for pictures to chat with PEOPLE about why refusing the key to Tila’s heart was “the right thing.”

“I really went with what my heart said,” Morgan said. “Sometimes you date people, and then it’s not always the happy ending.”

Morgan, who is bisexual, said she was “emotionally unstable” living away from friends and family and in a house full of lesbians and straight men. “It helped me learn what type of woman I want to be, [but] I started to emotionally break down,” she said.

Now she’s back in New York and happy again, posing for photos and signing autographs for fans. But, she said, “I’m not letting this reality stuff get to my head.”

And we’re not rid of Tila just yet. While she refused to comment on what the MTV star is really like, Morgan did say there will be more drama on the upcoming reunion special. – Emmet Sullivan

Jilted Tila Tequila Posts Angry MySpace Message

July 2, 2008

So she didn’t ruin the dramatic ending to her reality dating show, A Shot at Love 2, Tila Tequila had to keep quiet about getting jilted by the woman she picked to win, Kristy Morgan, a former Playboy model from Westchester, N.Y. But just minutes after the show’s finale aired on MTV, Tila let loose with a vitriolic poem on her MySpace page, much of which is explicit:

Can’t wait for this drama to pass.
Oh the joy…..—- you. My —.
Live a lie.
Tell my mind.
Over soon. I can’t deny.
You will all soon see, the truth in my eyes.

Smile on my face, the loving embrace….but instead I’ll punch you in the face.
For a long time coming….I let you touch me….now that it’s over —–….You better start running.
Pent up inside….telling these lies….this has gone too far…..the world will soon die.

The blog post, which is time-stamped 11:32 p.m. Tuesday, is presumably about Kristy, who refused the key to Tila’s heart in the finale, telling her, “If I take this key I’m not being true.” Tila had already dismissed the final male suitor, Bo Kunkle, a high school football coach from Fairborn, Ohio, after her told her he loved her.

But the MySpace post wasn’t all angry verses. Tila is clearly ready to move on. Well, almost: “Only 1 more day. To feel this way. Tomorrow I smile….brings another day!” she wrote. (more…)

Tearful Tila Tequila Misses Her ‘Shot at Love’

July 2, 2008

On Tuesday’s finale of A Shot at Love 2, Tila Tequila’s decision became clear early in the episode when she rooted for female finalist Kristy over potential boyfriend Bo as they each did their best with their body heat to melt a block of ice to get to “Tila’s heart” frozen in the center. Another clue: Tila dressed down for her sports bar date with Bo, but was decked out in a slinky dress for her romantic dinner with Kristy, who also enjoyed a steamy makeout session in the hot tub.

Poor Bo didn’t know any of that, though, and was blindsided when Tila dismissed him. “I’ve been calling Tila my girlfriend for a long time now,” he said. “I really do love Tila.” He was heartbroken but gracious when he didn’t get a key, telling her, “You always got your Bo-bear.”

But Tila herself had a surprise coming when Kristy refused the key. “You love that I’m honest and that I’m true to my feelings and true about who I am,” she said. “If I take this key I’m not being true.”

Ouch! “Why would you do that now?” Tila asked. “Why would you put me through all this process? … I feel humiliated.”

Kristy had been dropping hints all night, though. Over dinner, she told Tila, “I am 120 percent sure of my feelings for you, but I am unsure about my experience with women. I’ve never done this before. I’m so scared to hurt you.” In the limo ride to the final decision, she even said, “It would be a lot easier if she didn’t choose me.”

So Tila, who had said earlier, “No matter what, I’m going to be the one breaking someone’s heart,” ended up heartbroken and alone once again. On the bright side: It paves the way for A Shot at Love 3 with Tila Tequila! — Madeleine Desmond

Tila’s Away: Bo & Chad Want to Play

June 25, 2008

Tila Tequila II: Happy Hour, A Shot at Love 2’s reunion show, offered something for everyone. On the one hand, the women were almost disappointingly nice to each other:
Kristy admitted that she thought a still broken-hearted Brittany could have been in her place
Everyone cheered when Lisa revealed that she’d switched from boxers to girly underwear
Brittany got over her broken heart, declared her single status and made out with Sabrina
After the women did impressions of Glitter, she replied, “I know I took a lot of crap or whatever, but I had fun”

On the other hand — if it’s drama that you’re looking for — the guys delivered:
Jersey Jay had mini-throwdown with Lauren. “You look like a dude,” he screamed at her
Chad, who head-butted Bo and was kicked off the show, made his entrance flanked by “Wangbone Security” guards and was locked in a cage when Bo came out on stage. “I gave him some hospital bills,” Chad said. “This is how we do in Detroit”
Host Ryan Stout hastily cut to commercial when Bo had to be restrained by the guards as Chad climbed his cage and threatened to jump out so the two could go at it
Bo had this to say about his time on the show: “I was there for my girl, I’m not trying to be friends with anyone.”

The A Shot at Love 2 finale airs Tuesday (10 p.m. ET, on MTV) when Kristy, whose bottom is “ninth wonder of the world,” and Bo compete for that finale key and Tila Tequila’s heart. —Madeleine Desmond

Tila’s Final Two: Bo & Kristy

June 18, 2008

After a trip to Cancun and steamy one-on-one dates with the three remaining contestants, Tila Tequila picked her two finalists, Bo and Kristy, and sent Brittany home in tears.

The foursome frolicked in the pool and enjoyed lunch in their bathing suits before Tila had them compete in a “condom blowup race,” which had the contestants blowing up a condom by bouncing on a pump until it popped, to determine the order of the dates. Brittany won the contest and chose to go on the second date, leaving Bo going first and Kristy going last.

Between submarine and horseback rides, the contestants dined with Tila and talked about how they’re falling in love. Each date ended with kisses and a sleepover. Daters got to gloat about spending a night with Tila at breakfast the next day while non-daters scowled over eggs and pancakes.

At the last elimination before the finale, Tila put Bo out of his misery first, leaving the two women pining for a key, which went to Kristy. Brittany’s “shot at love has ended,” Tila told her (a shock, considering her “condom blowup race” victory), before wishing her the best and sending her on her way.

“Why am I not in the same spot as Kristy and Bo?” Brittany asked. “That’s what hurts.”

Tell us: Did Tila pick the right people to go to the finale? Who will win?

Tila Tequila: Hometown Girl

June 11, 2008

With just four contestants left on A Shot at Love 2, Tila Tequila headed home with Bo, Kristy, Brittany and Jay to meet their families of in traditional — and non-traditional — hometown visits. But after criss-crossing the country, Tila returns to her mansion to make a decision: who still has a shot at love? After elimination, things get ugly. Watch video after the jump.

First stop: Fairborn, Ohio, with Bo
After meeting some members of the football team Bo coaches at a local high school, Tila’s invited to dinner with his family. When mom shows off her extra-long tongue, Tila asks if she’s bisexual. She replies: “Maybe by the end of the night.” With Bo’s little brother at the dinner table, the family takes the opportunity to educate the little guy, asking, “Do you know what bisexual is?”
His answer: “A bisexual is the girl who likes two boys and two girls,” he says. “I think it’s kind of gross.”

Second stop: Yonkers, N.Y., with Kristy
Kristy takes Tila ice skating because she hasn’t been on the ice in four years and it’s an emotional homecoming for her. She also takes the chance to break the news to Tila that she’s never brought a girl home before. Later, at dinner, Kristy’s aunt Mimi makes Tila comfortable when she reveals she’s also dated women and men before. “It’s what’s on the inside that counts. It’s not the color of the skin or the anatomy,” she says. Things get even more comfortable — think spanking, lap dances and and breast grabbing — when Kristy’s dad puts on Tila’s song “Stripper Friends.” (more…)
